SIMONE DAMIANI is a keyboardist and percussionist. He started as keyboardist in the power-prog metal band IVORY with SALVATORE VECCHIO on guitar. With Salvatore some years later founded the fusion project ATTITUDE. In 2002 they recorded "Overflowing". "The CD spotlights the formidable soloing ability of the two musicians as they trade off mind-blowingly fast lead work over the high tech fusion instrumentals". Special guests include jazz fusion guitarist RICHARD HALLEBEEK.
In 2000 he left Ivory and he met the Argentinian percussionist LUIS CASIH who became his percussion teacher. Some years later Luis brought him as organist and pianist into his latin-funky band LA RUMBA A MANO ARMADA and as percussionist in his latin jazz quintet. Most of the songs played by La Rumba A Mano Armada are written by Simone.
In 2006 he moved to Sydney, Australia where he came in contact with the dance music world and recorded some Goa trance tracks.
Now he's back to Italy in order to record his solo album with SALVATORE VECCHIO on guitars and DIEGO GRASSEDONIO on sax, the band is called SIMONE DAMIANI AND THE HEAVY RUMBA. The album is latin-funky-fusion oriented.
