First got involved with Dance Music at the age of 17 when he started going out to the old 'Raves' way back in the early 1990's. Used to go partying at the weekends, hear all this new inovative dance music from the likes of Top Buzz, Ellis Dee, Seduction etc then go out and buy the vinyl.At the start he learnt how to beat mix on a single belt drive deck with no pitch control and a mixer with a tape player connected to the other channel, it was only a matter of time before he switched to a proper set of decks with pitch control then graduated to a brand new set of Technics SL1210's.In the following years his musical style changed from Rave to Drum & Bass to more Commercial House before settling on the music which he still plays today.. Deep US House. He took his early influences from DJ's and Producers Masters At Work and Tappert & Pomeroy (Jazz N Groove / UBP) amongst too many others to list.After spending the first years perfecting how to mix in the bedroom, decided that the only way to get anywhere in the scene, was to be involved in promoting his own parties. The original parties were actually the beginning of 'Raise The Roof' and he teamed up with Richard to promote a series of smaller events for about 200 people a time.After loving his first experiences of playing out to a crowd, it took off from there. Along with Richard again, they promoted and DJ'd at more nights in and around Cambridge including Traffic (Tudor Oaks, Baldock) and Another Messy Sunday (Chambers Bar, Cambridge - now Sauce) along with many other one off parties. This local exposure then led to him getting a number of Residencies in some of the Main Clubs in the area... Temptation (The Whitehouse, Newmarket), Pams House (Hollywoods, Ipswich) and Funk It (The Fez Club, Cambridge) in the late 90's.After having a long break from DJing, he decided to take it up again this year and is back to playing his blend of Deep Soulful Vocals and Funky Grooves. In addition to this, there are plans to get involved in the production side of dance music in the near future.. watch this space.
