The Dj
With a career spanning over a decade, Paul has seen his stature as a dj grow. From humble beginnings, in the past few years Paul has played at successive Creamfields in the UK (2004 – Main Arena, 2005 – Galaxy Stage), has rocked arenas at Global Gathering and has played consistently for the UK’s leading club brands including Crasher, Cream and Goodgreef.
Internationally, the global clubbing capital of Ibiza has seen Paul play landmark gigs for Cream at Amnesia and Slinky at Privilege, as well as countless other events across the island for the likes of Ministry of Sound, Sundissential, Tonic and Garlands. Paul’s sound has also taken him to Canada, Egypt, Finland, Poland and most recently Kiev in Ukraine where Paul has played a number of times to much aplomb. With a constantly busy diary Paul continues to entertain the masses wherever he plays.
The Producer
As one third of the outfit Atlantis, Paul saw one of their earliest productions, ‘Fiji’ go straight into the UK national charts at #52. The track appeared on over 35 compilations worldwide and was received by djs worldwide – including Paul Oakenfold who kept the track as his #1 for some time. The success of this track was topped off when the listeners of Radio 1 voted the track as the #1 all-time anthem of super club Cream.
Since that time, Paul has teamed up with friend and fellow dj Nick Rafferty and in 2004 gained increased success, hitting the UK charts at #48 with their track ‘Music.’ Writing under the artist name Rafferty and Kershaw, the duo have seen their work heavily supported by Paul van Dyk and are currently in the process of setting up their own record label.
Paul has recently turned his attention to remixing. His remix of Vicky Devine’s ‘Echoed Kisses’ was instantly snapped up by Drizzly Records and has already been supported by Adam White on his acclaimed Ministry of Sound radio show, where he made it his tune of the week. Further national radio support has come from Dave Pearce on Radio 1’s Dance Anthems show. Not only that, but the track was made trance tune of the month in IDj magazine.
The Radio Presenter
In 2003 Paul was given the opportunity to showcase his trance sound on a national level with Galaxy. Since that time his show has repeatedly beaten all other radio stations in the Galaxy Network transmission area, which covers a great deal of the UK.
Already a daytime presenter with Galaxy, Paul has been able to invite the cream of the world’s djs onto his now legendary Saturday show, with everyone from Tiesto, Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten to Sander van Doorn and Marcel Woods being part of his weekly broadcasts.
Galaxy regularly broadcast from massive UK events (Crasher NEC, Hi-Fi festival, Creamfields, Global Gathering) as well as now being in their 6th year of Ibiza broadcasts. Paul has been an integral part of each of these broadcasts and continues to enjoy his position as a presenter on the Galaxy Network every Saturday night, as well as a drive-time presenter on Galaxy Birmingham.
The Result
Paul’s varied talents within the music industry have seen him remain an in-demand product for many years, and with a busy dj diary and new musical productions to come, this seems likely to continue long into the future.
