"Id rather die somebody than live as nobody" is the quote Trinidad born Chantel molded in her brain as a young child. Scary huh? She was a very little girl with enormous dreams and major leadership skills.... that mind set started it all now dreams begin to become reality.
At the tender age of 4 Chantel's single mom submitted her in any and every fashion show, carnival or competition possible and, that stuck with her. Working closely with Trinidad based companies Mark & Mark and, Mary Innis Chantel was locked into her cultural activities. Chantel loved this and soaked it up for 8 years until the day she was introduced to hip hop...
Getting ready for school each day she would mimic music videos, dance and try to turn her uniform into garments she saw the top models displaying on the TV she missed several school buses getting caught in time. The more she would learn was the more her family would sit and watch her put on a show at home.
Blessed as she was to be surrounded with support Chantel met established choreographer Yanga Dabinga. This was her dance teacher at the Boston Renaissance Charter School. Dabinga instilled her passion for the art in Chantel. She encouraged and pushed her until she became a dancer for singer Casey (code 5) she also worked closely with john powers which was one of the top model angencies.
Years flew by as this little girl matured to a woman, luckily Chantel is continuously surrounded with wise company who not only taught her talent skills but also etiquette. This is where it all started for Chantel R. the well know model & hairstylist!
Her view of the profession came largely from attending numerous Fashion/ Hair Shows. At the age of 23 she has proven her place as a trendsetter and fashion guru. Chantel has participated in numerous fashion shows and photo shoots for many well-known Fashion Designers and Photographers in and out of Boston. She has been featured in Divine’s Extravaganza, part’s III, IV & V, Ed Hardy Fashion Show, Christian Audigier Fashion Show, the 7 Deadly Sins Calendar 2008, just to name few.
Shes also and performed with various music artists from Mario, Trina, and Maybac Miles. The sky is the limit for this outgoing, ambitious young woman… Chantel started displaying her talent in Hair Design in 2000 at Walter’s Barber Shop.. She expanded her creative skill for 5 years at Mattapan’s Finest, which is one of Boston ’s top salons joining them in wining a few hairshows... she would also dream that one day she'd take her own trophy home.
This year that dream too became a reality in Muffens annual 2008 Hair show Expo. Currently she is blessing a host of clients with her versatile panache as a self-governing Hair Stylist and plans to have her own beauty salon in the near future this is still the beginning for her lustrous career.
