Loris are a Glasgow pop/rock guitar band. What do they sound like? Imagine how a 60's garage band might sound if punk had happened in the 50s. Loris are Jim Byrne (guitar and lead vocal), Peter Byrne (Bass and backing vocals) and Bruce Ferguson (Drums and backing vocals).Loris have been together since 2003 - though the members of Loris have played together in various Glasgow bands since the mid 80s. Jim and Bruce played in Dexter Slim and the Pickups - probably the only country punk band to have come out of Glasgow. Peter, Bruce and Jim also passed through various lineups of the 90s guitar pop band The Hemingways - along with a lage collection of other musicians.As a guitarist Jim played for the Primevals - he also is notable as the person who set up the Kazoo club in the early 90s and gave Alex from Franz Ferdinand his first ever gig.
