as the snow fell from the pastel shapes in the sky, the lower east side fell quiet. took soft steps toward yet another long winter night. the silver sequin stars always guide me. one chapter after the next brings me one step closer to a dream difficult to describe to others not inside my mind. march on i say to the owl !! let's light that lamp that fuels your heart so we will be warm tonight and ultimately write. cast a spell upon me is what she does even from so many miles far. snow flakes touch my fire escape and somehow form a wall of emotions that leak through my window. this is when my fingers touch the keys, lips start to quiver, and soft words start to display a past so powerful it hurts. ......................For Her And The Snow lives in the belly of the New York underground music scene but hangs back behind the fences until it’s time to perform. Lately, singer songwriter Joe Presti comes out of this dark mysterious underground and plays an intimate solo show once a month at Goodbye Blue Monday in Brooklyn where he has a Saturday night residency. He brings his keyboard, laptop, and of course his sax. The inquisitive crowd that fills the small colorful room sit silent as joe starts to pour out inner emotions through his shaky vocal intertwined with loops and trills from his laptop all laid over a tinkering electric piano. When it comes time for him to stand up and walk toward his saxophone while a strange looped mix stirs about, the crowd waits anxiously for his unique soulful and powerful sax to tell his story each time as if he had never told it before…Whether Joe is performing solo, with his longtime friend and bass player Palli, or with a full orchestra, The band name remains the same “For Her And The Snowâ€â€¦..In September 2008, FHATS performed at the Mercury Lounge in NYC opening for the newest Saddlecreek band “Land of Talkâ€. Joe brought Palli to play bass. The show was delicate and emotional and although the medium sized room was packed wall to wall, you could almost hear a pin drop during the emotional performance….For Her And The Snow is a Shangri-la Projects artist and proud of it.
