About Me

5'2, 105 lbs: little girl big heart. VEGAN, animal rights activist and very passionate about it. Left-handed with brown hair and light brown eyes. Alumna of NC State University having graduated Valedictorian with a degree in poli-sci and a minor in psychology. I have in the past worked for PETA as a grassroots campaign worker and concert demonstrator, and had planned to go to law school to be an Animal Rights lawyer, though I currently see my life heading in a different direction. I am currently an office manager at a home services company, a preliminary drafter at an engineering firm, and I work at a bed and breakfast. I am working my way towards being debt free by 2009 - we manage. I'm in several animal rights organizations; I'm an expert on what's vegan/what's not and all the excuses for/against veganism, and I love a good debate. My whole life changed in 2004 when I left my group of friends (half of whom included my exes and their friends) behind for a new man and a new group of friends, which is comprised mostly of my oldest friends. The new man is now my husband David, and the new "old" group of friends include some of the best people I have ever been blessed to meet. I had forgotten how wonderful true friendship could be. I'm very close to my family- I eat lunch with my mom once a week and have been doing so for 8 years. My little brother is my best friend- we're 3 years apart in age, and have always been close companions for one another. I'm obsessed with my dental hygiene and skin care, I wear sunscreen everywhere everyday. I have a Himalayan cat named Pandora, who sheds as much as I do (which is quite a lot). I've never had my hair cut. I detach myself from situations and become emotionally cold if I think I'm about to get hurt- it's my defense mode. I clean when I'm angry and eat when I'm bored. My current obsession is Mario Kart Wii and green tea. I sleep in complete darkness because they say you sleep more soundly that way. I fall asleep on my left side, and don't move much. I dream every night though I seldom remember enough to describe them. I love too much, give my heart away too freely, and get my feelings hurt easily. My heart was broken too many times at a young age, which heavily shaped who I became. I love my comedy central news line up and Dr. Phil, but don't watch much else. I read a lot, mostly about animals and animal rights, human rights, and some novels. I'm not much of a partier, though I do love an evening with good people and food; I love entertaining. I eat all the time, play card games and computer games, read novels, Southern Living and Newsweek magazines. I speak with a strong Southern dialect most times, but try to hide it at others. I like coffee house performances- I found a lot of my favorite bands that way. I love everyone, literally, and trust too easily, though its seldom been neglected (benefit of small town living). I am a dreamer and idealist. I do yoga and stretches and dance alone when no one is looking. I make donations to my favorite organizations every month and give to every begger who asks of me. I smile even when I'm alone and nothing's funny. I smile at everyone I meet. I forgive easily because life's too short for bitterness, and I'm too happy to let it invade mine.

My Interests

politics, sweet tea, veganism/animal rights, humanity, acoustic music, bluegrass, poetry, food, the banjo, plays/drama, housewifery, Zelda, coffee shop concerts, marriage, home decor, WOW, the great series of our time (yes I've been sucked in- Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Inheritance Triology)

I'd like to meet:

vegans, music lovers, animal lovers, lovers in general, boys, girls, locals to the triangle area, folks who like folk music, indy music, quiet music, punk music, bowlers, dancers, anyone willing to be real about themselves - flaws are part of the fabric that makes us human. Politically active or opinionated people (or people who want to be because I'd be happy to discuss it)- left wingers who I can agree with or right wingers because I love a good debate-- bring it on. Debates - I can do abortion, gay rights, capital punishment, euthanasia, animal rights, human rights, environmentalism -- I will discuss it all in a (fairly) civilized manner. NC State grads, people still in Fuquay-Varina, and if you don't fall into any of these categories I still love meeting new people, so write me anyways. I've already met the man of my dreams, through this site actually. You make me so happy my dear, I truly never knew love before you. It's amazing how perfect love fits like a worn glove you never want to take off, like a piece of you that you can't live without, that makes you stronger, that makes you who you are. I have that with you, David, and I count my lucky stars, my blessings, when I think of my fortune at having found you. But you know all this, because I tell you everyday. :) Tu fait mon couer chanter, mon mari.
