Claire Smith

My name is Claire and i am 19 years old. My family are scottish but we have lived in England just outside of London for nearly 20 years now.I started writing songs aged 11 and i wrote a simple acoustic album when i was about 15. This was casually recorded but luckily put me in touch with the very talented producers Dean Whitbread and Mark Crook. I started to write with them and after two and a half years of fun but also hard work we had made 'Welcome Stranger Tomorrow'. When it was finished we started to do some gigs in and around London for example in Islington and Picadilly, to publicize it, which was great fun. I suffer from nerves but my god when i'm on that stage.... nothing comes close, I loved every second of it! The music seemed to be enjoyed but as i am now in Southampton at Uni it has unfortunately been put on hold. I don't really know what to do next.... but i miss it. At Southampton i am studying English and although it's a bit of work i have made friends here which i will know for life. Before Uni i took a gap year in which i travelled to Thailand and Cambodia. This was amazing, anyone who is thinking about doing this, DO IT!! I had the time of my life. We worked in a tsunami orphanage for a few weeks and i know it sounds a bit cheesy but it really did make me open my eyes. For the rest of the time we mostly lay on the beach, chilling and meeting randoms, excellent! Anyway, my favourite things to do are to be out dancing with the girls, and generally having fun, i am also sometimes partial to a glass of wine or a vodka-tonic too. I am currently organising a band here in Southampton so hopefully there will be some more dates soon. If you like or don't like the music, please let me know, and if you wanna come to any gigs i will need any support i can get. I've gotta at least try....or i'll never know. Same goes to you!
