About Me

Julius "JB" Brownlee, the sultry southern voice of Independent label Soul 360, has received notable acclaim for his rhythym marinated with blues sound throughout Chicago. Born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, JB first discovered his voice as a child singing in church choirs which helped develop his vocals into the renaissance of southernplayalistic R&B. It is the type of home grown music taken from grandma's antique music stash and enmeshed with the fresh eclectic sound delivered by JB who touches every genre of music. JB is well versed from Donny Hathaway to Anthony Hamilton, but cannot be compared, for his sound is never passe but extracted from the roots of southern gospel to unconventional soul. His uniqueness to lace tracks with his acidic lyrics caught the attention of label mates IROC and Joe Glass who immediately gave JB a microphone, a booth, and the opportunity to perform on the duo's album "Street Monopoly" which has reached the underground and mainstream sound system with positve critical review. JB is currently writing and producing his own LP. No release date has been set. But the songs are like great works of art that illustrate life, love and the struggle.
