I've always been told I talk too much (you should hear the messages I leave on answering machines!), so I'll try not to get too carried away here. Anyway, about me...I have a passion for music and spent the last year teaching the most amazing flute students EVER in Fort Smith, AR. Although it truly was my dream job, I recently decided to make the big move to my dream city of NEW YORK. Just what the Big Apple needs is another poor musician! All I have to say is this is one expensive city. Holy crap. Everyone warns you...but until you actually pay $5.00 for a box of cereal, you don't really believe them that it can be that bad! I had my first true "New Yorker" day a while ago...for 3 reasons: 1) I saw a ginormous rat in the subway 2) Someone asked me for directions and I actually knew what to tell them and 3) I saw TWO celebrities. Yes, it was a cool day. UPDATE: I've now seen a total of 7 celebrities. Granted, they weren't ALL A-list movie stars, but it still gets me excited every time. Kind of like when I used to run into the KU basketball players...See what I mean...I talk too much. I'm done now, I promise.
