I am one of the creators of what is now known today as L.A. Style Salsa. I am originally from Guadalajara Mexico. I began dancing and immediately fell in love with Salsa so I began teaching myself the basics by watching the best L.A. salseros of the day: Albert Torres, Laura Canellias, Joe Casini and many others. Soon the steps came and I discovered that I had a natural ability for dance, a gift for rhythm and a deep understanding of the music. This, paired with the inspiration and influence of the Nicholas Brothers, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, led me to create my own innovative style. I then introduced Salsa to my brothers, Luis and Johnny. Johnny and I later founded Los Rumberos Dance Company in 1995. We became known for our flashy, fast-paced footwork, keen sense of timing and the ability to hit an accent at the end of a quadruple spin perfectly. Years later, it was clear that I had found my niche in Salsa. I have been chosen to dance on stage before thousands alongside Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Charo and many other revered Latin artists. My credits include an extensive list of films like "Dance With Me" assistant-choreograper in "Selena", music videos with Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, television programs such as Sabado Gigante,Vibe, Brotherly Love and commercials like Coca Cola, Miller Genuine Draft and Payless Shoes . I continue to perform, choreograph and instruct for audiences and students around the world. Through my success, I try to remains a humble, down-to-earth man, crediting "faith as my strength". A generous heart and loving soul, I put family and friends before fame and fortune, and works tirelessly to share my gift and passion for Salsa with others all around the world. My greatest and most enduring strength comes from "believing in one's self and teaching those who continue to dream" and my most frequent phrase I like to use is "Dance from your heart!"
