I directed this next vid for FLII STYLZ, a super talented and intensely poetic rap artist. The name of the track is RIZE. We shot this vid at the intersection of Florence and Normandie in South Central Los Angeles and around the corner on 71st Street. Big shout out to WALT LIQUOR, FLII STYLZ, TOMMY THE CLOWN, MONTANA and the entire 71ST STREET CREW. THANK YOU GENTLEMEN.

This next vid I did for KEITH MURRAY. The track is CARNAGE and is Keith's reaction to 911. The first time I heard this track was when I picked Keith up at LAX. He jumped in the car, put his CD on blast and went F..%KING OFF in the front seat. I knew immediately what I wanted to do with the video. To this day, I've never seen such an intense performance. I still get emotional when I watch this vid. There ain't nobody like KEITH MURRAY.

This next video I did for a local LA band called COLOR GREEN. The lead singer wrote most of the music for the indie cult film GIRL and this track ONE STEP FORWARD is from the movie. I saw COLOR GREEN open for Creed at the Staples Center and they really rocked it. I like this video and I'm proud of it. It's an emotional visualization of a beautifully performed tragic love song. All COLOR GREEN's music is passionate, heartfelt and good listening. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/jonkahn

This next vid I directed for FEAR FACTORY and the name of the track is ARCHETYPE. These guys were really amazing to work with. Their energy is friggin intense!!!!! And as hard rockin' as their music is, thats how cool they are. We shot this entire video in a day, albeit a long day. But these guys were in it the whole time. I love the two performance set ups and am now a huge fan of Burton, Raymond, Christian, and Byron's. FEAR FACTORY ROCKS!!

This next video I directed is again for "the lyrical lexicon, matador of metaphor" KEITH MURRAY. The track, entitled CLOSIN IN, is a unique offering from Keith, in that he reveals such a mental and emotional vulnerability. I have to hand it to MR. MURRAY. He knows no fear. Most artists would have shyed away from my concept for this video. But not Keith. When I told him what I wanted to do, all at the same time, his eyes went wide, he grinned, and whispered "when we shootin?"

Out of the blue I got a call to do a video for a European Boy Band managed by the legendary Lou Pearlman. The band, US5, wanted a cool, kinda underground clip with an American flavor that was sexy, but not too sexy (considering their young female fan base). IN DA CLUB is their best video to date, and I'm not just saying that cuz I directed it. The vid's fun, flirtatious and the guys look great, individually and as a group.

I've had the pleasure of directing two videos for singer/songwriter MICHAEL McDERMOTT. This one is for the song WEST OF EDEN. Michael is such a gifted artist. He's also one of those rock stars that lives that lifestyle. I love when I can watch an artist in a video I've directed and think....."I got you." Definitely check more of Michael out at http://www.myspace.com/michaelmcdermott.

This next video I directed for R&B artist LATHUN. CVC Report wrote: "Ever dream of a music video pool party without the bikini-clad hoochies, flowing bottles of Cristal, rows of luxury cars and any of the other seemingly required accessories of the hip-hop lifestyle? Well, let us introduce you to LATHUN's 'BACKYARD BBQ' pool soiree, which is attended by loving relatives and catered with some good grilled food." I really enjoyed working with Lathun. He's a super nice guy, talented artist, producer and performer. On top of all that, he's one of the smooooooooth cats you'll ever meet.

This is the second video I did for MICHAEL McDERMOTT and the name of the track is SUMMER DAYS. Michael's a true poet....a true romantic poet. His lyrics and voice are pure passion, emotion and reflection. This video captures that; and I think the visual contrast between the blue, the color and the old style black and white film stock we used, gives the video a real sense of "a romantic poet" reminiscing.

This is the first music video I ever directed. The artist is VINNIE JAMES and the song is BLACK MONEY. Vinnie is a soulful and insightful singer/songwriter. His lyrics, his voice, his look....he's got it all, AND he's amazing on the guitar. I love this video. I love how Vinnie looks in the stairwell. And I love how simple yet how impactful the visuals are of the kids. It's an honest and powerful song and the video furthers Vinnie's message.

Having come from a feature film action background (Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Seven), I was asked to direct an action sequence for a Japanese rock group called the B'z. The sequence showcases the Japanese rockers as action heroes, chasing two "Good 'ol Boys" to their ultimate demise. The B'z ran the sequence on gigantic screens at their concerts (before they took the stage) and I'm told it got their audience into quite the lather. The entire sequence is about 8 minutes long but this is just a few minutes of it. I changed the music for my directors cut so that it played here in America. Funny thing was, the B'z didn't care about explaining why they were chasing the "Good 'ol Boys." They just wanted to chase them. So I call this A SOMEWHAT GRATUITOUS CAR CHASE.

This next video I did for TECHNOTRONIC and the track is MOVE THIS. This video was so successful that Revlon or Maybeline (I can't remember which) bought the rights to the song, emulated my editing technique and then went forward with an entire advertising campaign starring Cindy Crawford. The video's dated, and cheesy, but it's still kinda fun to watch.
