It all began in 1991 when Touchtone, also known as TRO on stage (True Real and Outspoken), would regularly rap at school with friends, throwing flashy punch lines and tight flows. He formed a group called Ruff Justice alongside a close friend Intrikut in later years, which was the beginning of a new era for both of them. In 1996 Touchtone stumbled across a young female rapper named Delirious, whose vocal style demonstrated raw and unique appeal. Her presence enhanced the group’s stage presence at various shows performed. It was decided in the same year that they would start to take their careers in music a bit more seriously. So, they went on to do shows at Subterania and major clubs all over the UK. After that the group started going to studios, and ending up meeting many successful and established artists and producers along the way. The group experienced lots of hardship, but they kept moving forward, from strength to strength.Touchtone’s production career took off in 1997 when he decided to study Music Technology at West Thames College. He took this further and graduated in a HND and BA Honours in Music Technology. During this time his whole life had transitioned through accepting Jesus as the Lord and Saviour. He realised that the God he served and his mighty word in the Bible, allowed him to be blessed through gifts such as the ability to sing, rap and develop his production skills, and this is where his inspiration is rooted. Other inspirations include his MPC 2000xl!Touchtone’s musical interests range from Gospel music, Hip Hop, Old school soul and new soul, R&B. He likes to describe his style of production as “addictive inventions” and method as an emcee is “smooth and smart”. People that Touchtone has worked with include CL6, Da Fellowship, Jaz Ellington, Kyza, Est’elle, Terri Walker, DJ Parris who is part of (Major Key Entertainment) in New York, NFA, Mark McPherson and plenty others that space on this page can’t accommodate. At the moment tro/touchtone is working along side his friend Phanatik who raps and delivers the word of god like fire, if wanna see them perform or collaborate just holla.
