Biography
Hi, i am young upcoming DJ with a lot of passion and love for what i do. I started off just messing around on my sisters boyfriends decks, I've always loved music but i was only 16 at the time and didn't fully understand the concept of it all, i just loved the tunes! I started off playing around with trance because at the time that's what the people my mates where into (just like to add ya still can't beat a real spine tingling trance tune!). It wasn't long after i went out and brought myself a set of decks and a mixer and would run home from work to get practising. It took me a couple of months to get the hang of it all and I'll never forget that feeling when it clicks and you know you've pulled off your first decent mix. From then on i kept on progressing and week by week i got better and better. I started playing more genres of music, at the time it was trance and funky house but as the years progressed i started to play hard house and hard trance as well. Then breakbeat really started to hit off and it was a totally new sound for me. By this point i loved so many different genres i couldn't keep up with them all, there's so many tunes and it gets very expensive so i decided i needed to focus mainly on one genre so i went with the breakbeat because i was really feeling it at the time. I stuck with the breakbeat for a while but about two years ago i discovered electro and i am sucker for a dirty baseline and that brings me to what i play today. Over the years I've picked up different styles and techniques from every genre I've played and i incorporate them all into my style today. I started playing on a local radio station in 2004 and have since played on four different stations, I'm currently doing a weekly show on Logic FM. I got my first gig in August 2005 at Joshua Jacks in Manchester and two months later i won a DJ competition at a local club The Drum (Bracknell) where i won a residency. Ive played lots of local clubs including Mangos (Reading) , Mantra 'Windsor' and Jags (Ascot) Remix (Woking). Last year i got to the semi finals of Turnmills DJ competition (London) where i went out with no-one to blame but myself but will be back next year as i had a real shot at winning and i know i could have done a lot better! And i was a finalist of the D-Joust European DJ Competition 2008. In the summer of 2007 I became a resident of the INDULGENCE night which launched in 2006 and is going strong. In 2008 I started the ground work to put on my own night, something more harder and dirtier than the Indulgence night! And so THE BEAT ADDICTION Presents... was born! 2009 looks set to be a great year with the highlight so far being my Ministry Of Sound debut!
