About Me

So who is Big D? So far I have survived this thing called life 40 odd years to date. Music has been my saving grace...more or less my escape, comfort and shelter. I started playing guitar at age 11, formed my first band at 12 in the 7th grade, played my first bar gig at 15, and travelled across these United States for 6 years in the late 80's. Hairspray, boots and spandex baby! in 1990, came home and formed the Atomic Farmboyz, which became a vehicle for 11 years of good times and bad all across the tri-state region of Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. That came to a mutual end, and our last show was a monster gig in Vincennes the first weekend of January in 2001. I started up the Big D Unplugged adventure in the spring of '01, Just me and the acoustic 12-strings. In the summer of 2002 I joined the Zero Kings. This project also became a regional success, and after a stellar run of several shows in late 2007, ended in March 2008 amicably.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Seems like everyone I would love to have a sit down conversation with has passed away. Being a huge Beatles Freak, I would have loved to talk shop with John Lennon and George Harrison. Obviously Paul and Ringo would be a cool visit as well. A chat with George Martin, who produced so much of the Beatles work, would be killer too.
