Upon graduating High School, I apprenticed first at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA and later that year at Chicago City Ballet Company. I continued acting studies at American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. After graduation, I toured nationally in CABARET. Moving to L.A. in 1992, I joined Rachel Rosenthal Company, and toured internationally for the next 8 years. In 1999, I performed in David RoussÂeve's LOVE SONGS at UCLA's Royce Hall, wrote, directed, choreographed and performed A THORN AT MY HEART at Highways, and conceived and performed AVION for the opening of the Festival of Performance at Ex-Teresa Festival in Mexico City. In 2000, I received the Arts International Award and co-created PERFECT DAY for the Tanztage Pfefferberg Festival in Berlin, site-specific on the beach in Santa Monica, CA, and in Tanzmetropole, Munich in 2002 (see photos and video clips at www.paradeisproductions.com/bisher.html). In August 2002, my one-man play THE VIEW FROM SKYLAND DRIVE workshopped at Michael Patrick King's ARCADE new works space in the Helms Bakery and premiered in March 2003 at Chicago's Athenaeum Theater. As a member of the Evidence Room Theatre company, my credits include THE STRIP as Romeo Mecklenburg, Ken Roht's (orpheancircus.com) critically acclaimed hit HE POUNCES and THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH (LA Weekly Best Revival 2003). In 2005/2006 I was proud to play CLAY in Justin Tanner's hit comedy "OklahomO!" which played to sold out houses for almost 8 months. Thus far, my TV credits include guest spots on HEAD CASES with Chris O'Donnell and Adam Goldberg and MIND OF MENCIA on Comedy Central.In August 2006, I was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma and have spent the last year undergoing intensive chemotherapy. My treatment ended in March and I am now in REMISSION. YEEE-HAAA! Looking forward to shaking my tail-feathers with Y'ALL soon!!!
