Dickens Zoo

About Me

Dickens' Zoo is the result of the breakup of Little Dickens (AKA The Dickenz) in March 1999. They have an immense and powerful repertoire of original material as well as cover songs from Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Van Halen, Steppenwolf, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Grand Funk Railroad, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Rory Gallagher, Jerry Lee Lewis, Beatles, Kinks, Pat Travers. Even though they are but three, Dickens' Zoo fills up the stage with their exciting presence. Coming from California, New York, and Greece, members of Dickens' Zoo have had unique opportunities to interact, have opened and/or headlined gigs with famous bands in famous venues in the United States and Greece. For a more comprehensive list and many more photos, see http://www.dickens-zoo.comIn the Summer of 2007, we toured Greece and Cyprus with Greek Rocker Vasilis Papakonstantinou, and Greek Comedian Giannis Zouganelis. Band Members: Tania Kikidi is our new Lead Vocalist, Tony Tassis plays Guitar and Vocals. Rich Melville plays Bass, Sax, and Vocals. Nikos Tavris plays Drums and Vocals
Influences: Dickens' Zoo is heavily influenced by the Riff Rock of the 70's and 80's - Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rainbow, just to name a few.
Sounds Like: Dickens' Zoo is unique, but probably more like Led Zeppelin than anything else, due to the spectrum of original music, but make up your own minds. We've heard we sound like everything from AC/DC to Yes! Listen to all the songs, because they are vastly different from one another. Cotton Candy is a loungy, saxophone rock tune. Ain't Got You is a sleazy, California Rock style song. The Ood is a power ballad. Night Chills is borderline metal, but has a couple of breakdowns that will knock your socks off!
Type of Label: Major
