Portrait Of A Dream (recording album!)

About Me

We are a unit. Literally a functioning machine. We've been in this game, doing this music stuff for many years now in and out of the same bands. We know each other well and we know exactly what it is that we're doing. Anybody who has followed us throughout our time period know we are a band that has went through a lot of ups and downs. More so than any other group around our area. Portrait is family especially to certain individuals who play or have played with us. Although we can't speak for everyone. We have a loyal and large following. Really, we just want our respect from the surrounding area. We didn't ask for it at first but considering our story as a band, we know we're well deserving of it. And our friends and fans alike will tell you the same thing.
Now for some history..
Portrait Of A Dream was founded in September of 2004 by Mike Gray, Jerry Jasso, Chad Rice, and Casey Blankenship. We are based out of Hamilton, Ohio roughly 40 miles North Of Cincinnati. In the summer of 2005 we put out a 3 song ep entitled "Only The Strong Survive". This along with playing a few shows established a fan base and our name recognized around the Cincinnati area. We played many shows in Cincinnati and even a few in our native home town. After a year and a half playing as a four piece we added Phil Alvarado another guitarist to our band completing it as a five piece. In October of 2006 we started recording a full length album. In July following one hell of a show at the Blue Note in Cincinnati for each of their own personal reasons Chad, Phil, and Casey left the group narrowing it down to Mike and Jerry.
August 2007, Mike and Jerry started tracking new material (Me playing guitar, drums, and bass) at our newly accomplished home studio. However the material never surfaced due to the acception of new members.
September 2007, brothers; Jimi and Joey Gadd complete the line up (Jimi-Bass Joey-Drums) New material is in the writing process.
I update posting blogs every other week or so. Check them out for all the other misc. info.
We also have old songs at www.purevolume.com/portraitofadream
The songs on our purevolume.com site as well as this site were recorded with ex-musicians; Drummer-Chad Rice, Bassist-Casey Blankenship, and Guitarist-Phil Alvarado
New songs will be posted as soon as we track them as well as show dates..stay tuned!

You decide.
