I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I think the biggest word in any relationship - either with a significant other or friend - is ACCEPTANCE. You have to be able to accept that person as they are - and they you -before you can have a truly meaningful association.
I'm in my 50's now and have been very lucky to have had 3 good men love me. The first was my high school sweetheart. Scott. My, we had such plans back then. Then life happened and we went our seperate ways. The next guy I was married to for 10 years before we moved apart. Glenn and I had a great son together. And then he died suddenly in 2000 and I lost a good friend. Even though we were divorced, we had remained close and were very good friends. And that attitude helped us to raise a very strong son. Twenty years now I've been with this third guy, Bill, who I really believe is my soul mate - he loves me without reservation and completely. We have a daughter together and he helped me raise my son from the age of 6. These guys weren't wife beaters or drinkers or gamblers, and they all taught me some lesson I needed and helped me grow.
And of course I have my doggies. Talk about true acceptance. Now in the dog/human relationship the dog knows its all about acceptance. They hang on your every word, on every pat on the head. They know when you are feeling sad or sick and they are always always a companion to you.
There you have it - just a bit about me.

My Interests

I love to: do counted cross stitch - this is a pattern I designed myself, made into an ornament and sent to New York for the Angel Ornament project in December 2001; veg with my dogs, anything with my daughter, listen to my son play harmonica and guitar, snuggle with my hubby, travel a bit, read Amish fiction.
THE MOM SONG!
We also volunteer with Kansas K-9 ResQ - working to find dogs good homes....like this lovable guy. Rocky was found wandering by the highway and the Kansas Humane Society took him in and called us to help. We had him several months when he was first adopted. That family had to move and couldn't take him with them so he moved back in with us. Today, August 13, 2007 he was adopted by a wonderful family of 4 with 2 daughters who love him and a new mom and dad who brush him and take him on lots of walks. He is very happy now but we will miss this Rocky Bobo - this big lover dog.
I like spending time with my YA-YA Sista's - going to dinner or a movie or just spending time with each other talking or scrapbooking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Music:

Just about anything - not too keen on opera - but some of my favorite artists are IZ, Carly Simon, Sade, Moody Blues, Amasong, Hiroshima, America/Bread, Oak Ridge Boys, Jimmy Durante. My favorite soundtrack is from the movie Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, altho the soundtrack from Dances With Wolves is really awesome! Here's a nice little ballad by Ozzy Osbourne called "Dreamer"
DREAMER
Gazing through the window at the world outside
Wondering will mother earth survive
Hoping that mankind will stop abusing her sometime

After all there's only just the two of us
And here we are still fighting for our lives
Watching all of history repeat itself
Time after time

I'm just a dreamer
I dream my life away
I'm just a dreamer
Who dreams of better days

I watch the sun go down like everyone of us
I'm hoping that the dawn will bring a sign
A better place for those who will come after us ...
This time

I'm just a dreamer
I dream my life away oh yeah
I'm just a dreamer
Who dreams of better days

Your higher power may be God or Jesus Christ
It doesn't really matter much to me
Without each others help there ain't no hope for us
I'm living in a dream of fantasy
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

If only we could all just find serenity
It would be nice if we could live as one
When will all this anger, hate and biggotry ...
Be gone?

I'm just a dreamer
I dream my life away
Today
I'm just a dreamer
Who dreams of better days
Okay
I'm just a dreamer
Who's searching for the way
Today
I'm just a dreamer
Dreaming my life away
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

How to treat a girl - and we mean it!

1. Whatever you do, don't just show up at their house [without notice]...they run around in their underwear just like we do. 2. DON'T CHEAT ON THEM. It may seem foolproof, but girls tell each other ev...
