Embodying the rags to riches rap dream, Cribbs an Iowa bred emcee is arguably at the forefront of Midwest hip hop. The Davenport native has already established a phenomenal underground and street presence on the strength of his radio show, mix tapes and live performances. Cribbs has shared the stage with many respected artist such as, Too Short, Kanye West recording artist GLC and Peaty Pablo just to name a few. With a ten year track record in the music biz Cribbs credits his mother for putting hip-hop in his soul. ”She entered me into a talent show when I was eight and I had to break dance, and from then on hip hop was my religion.”Currently Cribbs is working on his debut album “Street Religion” slated to drop the summer of 2008. In his own words he is bringing the pulpit to the street and the street to the pulpit. With songs like “The Offering” Cribbs gives a distinct vision of him robbing a church in a spiritual manner. With the background of growing up in the church and the street savvy he posses this album has the potential to be a divine classic. To prove his lyrical finesse he unleashes verbal warfare on the song “Devotion” to prove to every emcee he should be well respected. With no financial backing from a major label Cribbs and his comrades plan to do every thing independent from shows to promotions. Cribbs has career plans to be the first major hip hop record label to ever come out of the state of Iowa. With all the odds against him and despite his geographical location his music will prove to the masses that he definitely deserves a spot in hip-hop history.
