About Me
About me:
I was born and raised in Chicago by my mother who had strong morals and a swift wit and I was the seventh boy, eleventh child out of thirteen. As I matured at the age of eleven years old I recognized as a drummer that I had the potential and wanted to play more than one instrument, and so the desire was imbedded in me to play the organ and I was so determined that I prayed to God to give me this ability and He saw fit to bless me without hesitation. While serving as the organist/pianist for the Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church Angelic Choir (Chicago, IL.), a directress in our conference, Ms. Saffori, saw the need for me to learn how to read music and so when the opportunity presented it self, the late Mrs. Tyson offered to pay for my lessons and at the moment I began traveling as the youngest musician in the A.M.E. Church Youth conference to play in front of thousands of God's people, this was the beginning of my destiny. In 1989 I was hired by Bishop Larry D. Trotter to come and work with his Youth choir at Sweet Holy Spirit (Chicago, IL.) and while serving in this capacity I was also employed as the Music Director for the gospel choirs in two of our inner-city schools as an elective course. I have worked in various prison ministries in a number of duties (i.e. organist, greeter, etc.). I served as the Minister of Music for the State of Illinois Full Gospel Baptist Church; soon after I received a promotion at Sweet Holy Spirit Church becoming the personal adjutant and lead musician to the Bishop. I worked at Sweet Holy Spirit Church for 14 years. Presently I serve as the Church Musician and Director of Music of the Voices of Praise Choir and the Voices of Tomorrow Choir at DuPage AME Church (Lisle, IL.)
