Eric Hughes Band

About Me

Perhaps you desire an amplified, up-tempo, electric five-piece Blues band that can rouse a crowd and stir up a large room. You may, however, simply need a solo/acoustic Delta and Country Blues player in a more pure and down-home flavor. Eric Hughes delivers the goods in either setting, playing vintage Blues favorites as well as his own award-winning original Blues songs. Eric Hughes has maintained a steadily growing Blues career in Beale Street's best nightclubs for the past five years, as well as prominent music festivals throughout the South.

Band Members: Eric Hughes - A featured artist in the clubs on Beale Street- as well as Blues Festivals nation-wide, Eric Hughes captivates and entertains audiences with vintage Blues favorites, as well as his own original songs. Whether solo/ acoustic, or backed by the electrifying Eric Hughes Band, this young singer/songwriter appeals to tourists and purists alike. This Memphis natives talent and passion are obvious; Hughes presents the Blues to a new generation, and carries the torch into the modern Blues period. As a youth, Hughes spent most weekends in Mississippi hunting camps, where its traditional to hire a Bluesman to entertain hunters and guests. It was there that Eric Hughes developed a love for the Blues, and first pursued the knowledge of playing them. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, dobro or harmonica, Hughes delights audiences with songs learned- in many cases, personally from masters such as: Son Thomas, Junior Kimbrough, Big Boy Henry, and Blind Mississippi Morris. Recent exposure world-wide via TV, Local Radio and Global Satellite Radio has taken Eric Hughes to a greater market, earning glowing reviews in both national and international magazines and newspapers
