music : listening to, writing, and performing music. I know it's cliche but I'll listen to anything.. once. There's not a specific type of music I like and I'm certainly not a blind-fan of any particular genre. Fuck me though I hate affected shit. There aren't 56 syllables in the word "girl".. so don't fucking use it as a chance to show off your arpeggios. Look, music just has to move you; whether through complexity or simplicty. Wow.. that sounds pretentious as shit. Just keep reading.. it'll get better.
football(soccer) : playing, watching and moaning about football. I played 3 seasons with a German team in Baden-Wurtemburg ( TsV Rohr ) and 2 seasons for TSV Jahn Büsnau and Altdorf 1910 e.V.
I support Leeds United FC and DC United . It's by far the greatest sport on the planet. Doubt me? Go to a Celtic v Rangers match, or Spurs v Arsenal, or a Leeds v Knaresborough Steampipe Fitters FC... wait.. read on.
traveling : I like being an outsider in different cultures. The bible belt doesn't count... not much desire to visit there. Recent trips include Venezuela. Germany. Canada. Colombia. Spain. UK. Places on the list to visit next... Tromsø (Norway), Darièn Peninsula (Panama), South Georgia Island (off the coast of Antarctica), Reykjavik (Iceland). LOOK AT ME!!!!
friends : I go out quite a bit boozing with friends and recently have come to the conclusion that I am addicted to all-things-social. Maybe it's the English in me... but going out on the piss* with close friends is great fun... Beverages of choice for myriad occasions include: English ale (for football related drinking), Czech pilsner (for poker related drinking), Russian Vodka (for standing around in clubs), and Irish stouts (for standing around in pubs)
this internetwebthingie : I also think I'm starting to realize I'm really into wasting away wee hours of the night looking at ridiculous websites and searching things I don't even really care that much about. The best ones are websites people have done for their cats or favorite hobbies. Got a spare couple of hours? Here's one... " tron guy " on the internet. Um... what the fuck? I mean that's gotta be one of the greatest/oddest things I've ever seen. VIVA LA HUMANS!...
movies : Foreign films, documentaries, sundance channel, independent film channel, BBC. To name just a specific few - The Idiots (pretty much anything by Lars von Trier), Dancer in the Dark, Thin Red Line, The Shining, Insomnia (the original Norwegian and pretty much any scandinavian film), Salvador (but not much else from Stone), Motorcycle Diaries, Goodbye Lenin, Glory, Man Bites Dog, American History X...
television : The Office (UK) , The Mighty Boosch (BBC America), The League of Gentlemen, Little Britain , News Radio, Free SpeechTV, Fox Soccer Channel, Sky Sports, and for some reason I like those exposé shows that um.. expose corporations or what not.
books : Mainly non-fiction. To name just a specific few - The Darien Expedition, Shackelton, Over the Edge, Shipwrecked at the Bottom of the World...
religion : I am a devout agnostic . To the knee jerk reactions on either side of that particular stance.. I say blindly believing IN something is just as silly as blindly DISbelieving something. For me the evidence is pretty well overwhelming in one direction but there still could be? The basic tenet is summed up by "Who knows"? My god is molecular. Neutrons of positive and/or negative energy and it certainly doesn't give a fuck if you eat meat on Friday, wank to porn, swear at strangers etc...
school : trying to get my shit together academically for ONCE in my life.... studying Anthropology .
political : Leftist. Almost Socialist . And only cunts think left=pussy because I'm not talking about your watered down American version Democrat with no balls.
orientation : It's weird having to write this, but since this is both my music profile (which doesn't include an area for orientation) and my personal profile I think I should point out that I am straight. Straight but not narrow(minded).. to each his own. Leben, und leben lassen.
