About Me

The brainchild of Artist James Forrest. What's This Button (temporary name) attempts to illustrate the emotional beauty between drunkeness and the waking state. Trained as a guitarist and audio engineer, James Forrest mixes the ambient drones of guitars with anything that will pulsate and distort.

A splendid mixture of Smooth Operator meets a cold snowy day.
Recent Work
Machine 475 (2006-present)
A music/art collaborative based in Salem. I work in tandem with Richard Lewis to write, produce, and perform a wacky cinematic blend of ambitious prog-pop-techno-twang mixed with a little multimedia. Pop, rock, alternative, techno, trance, bluegrass, and spoken word tunes. Want to learn more?
Who's Awake: Owls in Art & Nature (2005)
In 2005 James created a body of work that interprets owl behaviors through abstract sound synthesis. This installation is on display at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Ma and can also be listened to in its entirety here
New Tunes (2006-08)
A whole bunch of good stuff on the way. There has been a beautiful union with my mind and american roots music (old time). Lets say a lot of airy acoustic guitar on the front porch mixed with some classic production techniques. Coming Soon!
