I am here for Friends

About Me

I've got a beautiful little family, but that didn't happen overnight. I graduated from UGA in Accounting, went to work and then after about three years went back to grad school at UGA for my MBA. While I was back at school, Ellie and I got engaged, and shortly after I graduated we got married. Our story is a long one, so I won't put it on here, but I think it's beautiful, so I don't mind sharing it with friends. Now we have a beautiful daughter named Jacqueline born about a year after we got married, and just over two years later we had a son named Benjamin. They are so totally different, but both so special. After grad school I came back to work at and now am part owner of a successful trucking business. Since taking over, we've hired two new dispatchers, and we've been having record sales. Things are really looking up in my world.

My Interests

I enjoy reading and writing. I enjoy talking about whatever I'm reading, and also politics, religion, and business. My greatest interest is my family, and I enjoy being with them as much as possible.

Music:

I have been guilty of liking Country, but I'm cured of it, for the most part. I like a lot of 80's music, some modern pop and rock, and some Christian music. Mostly, I just like what I like.

Movies:

I like comedies, dramas, the occasional thriller, some sports movies, and most Pixar movies. Some of my recent favorites are the Incredibles, Firewall, the Guardian, and One Night with the King.

Television:

My favorite show has to be Numb3rs on CBS, though ironically I have watched very few episodes on the night it is actually on. Thank goodness for being able to buy the DVD collection and watch the episodes this season online. I enjoy CSI (original and Miami), Law & Order (original and Criminal Intent), Without a Trace, and Cold Case, though I don't catch many of those either. Honestly, I rarely watch TV anymore, and I don't miss it. There's a lot more to life than what's on a TV screen.

Books:

I love the Ender's Game and Ender's Campanion series, Harry Potter, and most Betsy Brannon Green books. I like reading good history. Recently I've read 1776 (a great review of how miraculous it was that America ever won its independence) and 1421: The Year China Discovered America (a book that redefines history and explains the great Chinese sailors that actually mapped the world years before the Europeans, and whose maps the Europeans used to sail here).

Heroes:

My wife, my parents, my buddy Todd... they've all inspired me by what they've accomplished. They're my heroes.
