'Lyrical Lye', born Elijah Medley, has resided in Sicklerville, NJ for the last 19 years, and has been battling eMCees as long as he can remember. Making a name for himself "around the way" and throughout his high school career with his lyrical ability, it's been ever evident that he has a strong love for Hip-Hop and poetry as more than a hobby, but as a lifestyle. Although writing poetry has always been a hobby of his since the age of 12, he decides to use the same writing techniques when writing lyrics to create and develope his unique, raw rap style.
At age 14 "Lye" made his way into the game by recording underground mixtapes and battling other local eMCee's. Along the way, he recorded with artists from the area such as D.O.A., Dana Daye, LockDown, Bruce Wayne, GSR, K9, BKB, G. Hitz, trinity, the late Bishop Timbs {R.I.P.}, and too many others to name. It wasn't until 2003, when he met Mixtape DJ, P. Cutta, and Mic-Q, at Hitz Recording Studio, when he decided to take his music to the next level. Since then he has appeared on many of P. Cuttas' mixtapes, including the yet to be released "All South Jersey Album".
Lyrical Lye is also a versatile eMCee who wants to bring back that 'old shool' feel of Hip-Hop with creativity, longevity, story telling, crazy word play, and convincing delivery.
On his own merit, Lye has completed 3 full length underground albums. The most recent being SOE: State Of Emergency, is a mainstream breakthrough hopeful, and some of his best work to date.
Not to be confused with the average artist, forgetting the streets that raised him, in the winter of '05 Lye organized and hosted a "Stop the Violence" benefit concert in order to raise awareness, and gave the proceeds to the families affected by the recent acts of violence plaguing his hometown of Sicklerville.
Overall, you can expect to see life through his eyes in every piece of music he brings to the table: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the funny. Along with his many lyrical, and social accomplishments, Lyrical Lye is also the CEO of Flow Game Entertainment, a South-Jersey-based enterprise dedicated to housing many of the industry's leading aspects such as production, management, promotions, talent scouting, and much more.
Now with his SOE project finished and due to release in July of '06, his main focus has returned to his first artist and protege, Remorce, and his production staff, including his Number 1 producer, SoundCheck. So be on the look out for all of the upcoming Flow Game releases including Remorce's self-titled debut, The Flow Game 'Stop the Violece' Mixtape Vol. 2, What the Streets Need Mixtape Vol. 3, the Lyrical Lye - Enemy Of The State LP due in early '07 featuring production from Mic-Q. of Hitz Music, and his very own SoundCheck, and various other releases in between.
