JEAN

JEAN es un artista multifacético, canta, compone y produce; un talento muy difícil de encontrar en el mundo artístico de hoy. Nos regala un estilo diferente, fusionando los elementos de Soul, Hip-Hop, Pop, tropicales y alternativos; un sonido único entre lo Latino y anglosajón, reflejando su propia cultura.La pasión por la música le llegó por herencia. Por parte de padre, un gran coleccionista de música de todo género, y por parte de madre, miembro del famoso coro de Puerto Rico "Viva La Gente". Su abuelo fue trompetista e integrante del "Trío". La música fue siempre un elemento búsico en su familia. JEAN recuerda las actuaciones que junto a su hermano les hacían a sus padres. Cada reunión familiar se convertía en una fiesta donde todos los integrantes participaban cantando o tocando instrumentos. JEAN comenzó a cantar desde la edad temprana de los 4 años. A los 6 años, sus padres lo inscribieron en "El Coro De Niños De San Juan", una reconocida escuela de música a un nivel mundial. Luego a los 9 años, él y su familia se mudan a Orlando, FL.En Orlando se enfrenta un mundo totalmente nuevo con respecto a la música. Descubre MTV y los géneros de música del R&B y el Hip Hop. Las armonías y modulaciones vocales de estos géneros lo cautiva y lo lleva a descubrir Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Boyz ll Men, Marvin Gaye, Mint Condition, etc; luego su repertorio se extiende a Bob Marley, Nirvana, Earth Wind & Fire, Queen, Wu-Tang, y Prince entre otros. Luego de descubrir estos géneros musicales, JEAN forma parte del coro de su colegio y de la banda de Jazz donde tocaba el trombón. Mas adelante, empieza a estudiar teoría musical, profundizar su vocalización, integrarse a grupos vocales "a capela", participar en shows de talentos musicales, y hacer presentaciones en festivales y clubes en Orlando; comprendiendo su verdadera vocación y decide seguir su carrera artística.En busca de realizar sus sueños artísticos, JEAN se muda a Los Angeles, California. Allí lo firma el presidente de A&M records, Ron Fair, donde tuvo la oportunidad de perfeccionar su composición y grabar junto a productores importantes tal como Ray Cham, Beau Dossier, Cutfather & Joe, Manuel Seal, Robbie Nevil, Franne Goldie, Rob Bolt, Damion Elliot, y Mishcke entre otros. Después de 2 años de vivir en Los ¡ngeles, JEAN decide mudarse a la Gran Manzana, la meca de la música, para evolucionar en su carrera. En Nueva York empieza a presentarse en clubes de la ciudad como: "Joe’s Pub", " Village Underground", "Cutting Room", etc. Año y medio después, coje rumbo a Miami, donde se integra al mundo Latino nuevamente. En esta ciudad multicultural se enfoca de nuevo en la composición e interpretación en su lengua natal. Tuvo la oportunidad de componer canciones para Olga Tañon, Luis Fonsi, Mario Vasquez, Baby Bash, Trey Songz, Ha*Ash, y muchos más.No pasó mucho tiempo cuando el sello multi-nacional Sony/BMG lo descubre. En Abril del 2006 lanza su primer disco titulado,"ON". El disco biling¸e fue una fusión de ritmos del RnB, Hip-Hop y tropicales ofreciendo un sonido nuevo al mercado Latino. "ON" representa un sonido atrevido con arreglos eclépticos, una mezcla sus raíces. El primer sencillo "Playing With Fire/ Juegas Con Fuego" fue grabado junto el productor reconocido, Jim Jonson (Pitbull, Danity Kane, Jaime Foxx.). Su segundo sencillo, "Duele", lo ubicó entre las primeras posiciones de la radio Latina.En el verano del 2006, FIFA (World Cup) invita JEAN a representar a Puerto Rico en los eventos de La Copa Mundial en Alemania. Luego de tanto éxito, los productores del genero urbano Latino empiezan a solicitar a JEAN para participar en compilados notables como "Los Benjamins" (Luny Tunes), “Caribbean Connection” (Diesel) donde el primer sencillo del compilado serú de JEAN, y “The Gold Pen” (Wise) que sale el verano del 2008.En este momento JEAN se encuentra grabando su segunda producción junto a el productor Sebastiún Kris (2007 GRAMMY - PRODUCER OF THE YEAR). El disco será lanzado a finales del 2008.------------------------------------------------------- -------- JEAN , a multifaceted artist that sings, writes and produces; a rare talent in today’s music industry. His contribution to the industry is his unique style, a fusion of Soul, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Tropical and Alternative rhythms; a distinctive sound that represents this cross-over artists’ Latino and Anglo culture.His musical talent is hereditary; it came through his father, a connoisseur and collector of all genres of music and mother, member of the renowned Puerto Rican choir, "Viva La Gente". His grandfather, a trumpet player and member of the famous “Trio” from Puerto Rico, also influenced his passion for music. Music was always an integral part of JEAN’’s family. He always reminisces about the performances him and his brother would act out in front of his parents. His family reunions would turn into concerts where its members would either sing or play an instrument. JEAN began singing at the early age of 4. At 6, his parents enrolled him in “El Coro De Niños de San Juan”, a music school recognized all over the world.At 9, JEAN and his family move to Orlando, FL. Here he discovers a new world with respect to music. He becomes captivated by MTV and by the musical genres of R&B and Hip-Hop. The harmonies and vocal modulations of these genres lead JEAN to discover Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Boyz ll Men, Marvin Gaye, Mint Condition, Raphael Saddiq etc. Not much time elapsed before his musical repertoire expanded to include 2-Pac, U2, Bob Marley, Nirvana, Queen, Prince, and Earth Wind & Fire. In school he joins the choir and jazz band as a trombone player. Later on he began studying music theory, vocalization & harmonization, joined accapella vocal groups, participated in talent shows and began performing in festivals and clubs all over Orlando; thus, he realized what his true vocation was and commenced his pursuit for a career in music.In search of his dream, JEAN then moves to Los Angeles, California where he gets signed by president of A&M Records, Ron Fair. It is here that he has the opportunity to perfect and develop his own style and record with some of the hottest producers in town (Ray Cham, Beau Dossier, Cutfather & Joe, Manuel Seal, Robbie Nevil, Franne Goldie, Rob Bolt, Damion Elliot, and Mishcke among others). After a couple of years in L.A., JEAN decides to move to the Big Apple, mecca of the music industry, in order to advance his career.In New York, JEAN immediately submerges in its rich musical culture. He begins to perform at local clubs such as the Cutting Room, Village Underground, Joe’s Pub, etc. After 2 years, he decides to change his course to Miami, FL in order to re-integrate with his Latin roots. Here he focuses on composing and recording songs in his native language. JEAN ‘s talent becomes recognized instantly and lands songs in albums of renown Latin artists such as Luis Fonsi, Olga TaÒon, Ha*Ash, etc. He also gets the opportunity to work with reputable Anglo artists such as Trey Songz, Baby Bash and Mario Vazquez.Soon after, major record label Sony BMG Latin signs JEAN. In April of 2006 he releases his debut album “ON”, a bilingual production with a fusion of R&B, Hip-Hop, and tropical rhythms. The fist single "Juegas Con Fuego / Playing With Fire" was produced by Jim Jonsin (Pitbull, Danity Kane, Jamie Foxx, Pretty Ricky). His second single "Duele" reached the top of the Latin charts in radio.In the summer of 2006, JEAN was invited by FIFA to perform and represent Puerto Rico during the World Cup games in Germany. After much success in his career, prominent producers from the Latin Urban genre begin to solicit JEAN ‘s participation in notable compilations such as “Los Benjamins” (Luny Tunes), “Caribbean Connection” (Diesel ), which its first single is JEAN’s and “The Gold Pen” (Wise) which launches this summer. Currently JEAN is in the studio working on his sophomore album with Latin Grammy winning producer, Sebastian Kris. The album is due to drop last quarter of 2008.
