Music's a huge passion at both ends of the spectrum, creating and enjoying. I'm relatively well-read, mainly the classics and politics/current affairs, but I have a secret passion for horror I divulge from time to time. Travel is right up there, most of my spare cash goes into seeing a corner of the world that I haven't yet. The love of food has replaced constant partying! So now I'm a budget connoseiur.....And of course I have all the regulars-I like movies, dogs, swimming, hanging with friends, *ahem* partying a bit, *ahem* 4:20 breaks, blah blah blah. I'm a pretty outspoken medical cannabis advocate. I love debates and picking others' brains. So as long as you're not into kiddie porn, Dr. Phil, or the Backstreet Boys I guarantee we have a couple things in common!
Anyone who won't bore me to death or try to sell me Amway!!
Honestly, unless you're tied to your chair with your eyes taped open and aren't going anywhere for a few days, you just don't have the time. Just ask. I'm into everything on some level except opera, tejano and 99% of all country.
Well-made comedy and horror. Drama in it's place. Documentaries of all kinds. Pretty much any British gangster flick. Again, ask. I will say that Ferris Buellers' Day Off is my all time fave as it had the most impact on my life. :)
I don't watch much.......if I see another "reality" show, I'm just going to hang myself. Period. Pretty resigned to Animal Planet, A&E, the History Channel. I did like MTV back when they played videos fifteen years ago. HBO & Showtime to the tune of Weeds, the Sopranos, Oz reruns occasionally. Every once in a while some animated fluff.........Squidbillies, Robot Chicken, the Boondocks. But for the most part, TV really does rot your brain, and I've done a damn fine job of that without any exterior help, thank you.
Anything politico and current.......either side of the fence. I have a great affinity for Kerouac, Ginsberg, Cassady.......all the beat guys. J.D. Salinger's awesome, as well as Chuck Pahliniuk. But I mainly stick to politics and the classics. Of course, I do have to sneak anything new by King and Anne Rice in.....what can I say?
There are many people in music, literature, film, business, history, and yes, even politics, that I admire greatly. But what separates a hero? A few pop into mind. John Lydon. If you don't know, find out. Che Guevara. Ben Franklin. Eric Clapton. Henry Ford. Sun Tzu. Marc Emery. Karl Marx. But by the far the most tangible with the most signifcant impact? My grandfather. And of course, I'm my biggest hero and villain every day.
