Hailing straight from hip-hop’s capital, Spectacula is one of the most notable additions to the New York’s up-and-coming roster. Born to Haitian parents and growing up in Queens Village Queens, music quickly became the sensation of this rapper’s childhood as he was introduced to R&B and Kompa at an early age. He soon fell in love with the beat and the rhythm along with music’s “ability to grab the attention of anyone who chooses to listen for 3-5 minutes, be it meaningful, emotional or just plan stupidâ€.Dating back to elementary school, music became his hobby and so did rhyme; more so, it became a savior at a time in which the then-youth witnessed hardships of his parents’ divorce. “If I did not have music as an outlet, I probably would have been very emotionally distressedâ€. Spectacula’s passion for rhyme led him to signing a development deal with independent label Fly Spy Entertainment at an early age of 12. Since then, he released Young and Hungry: The Mixtape (2005), hosted by DJ D.O.A. A year later he dropped another mixtape, Cut a Check or Suck a *&^% through soundlick.com, which steadily granted the hungry artist over 40,000 streams. Nothing to Lose (2007) street album continued the steady progression of releases as it earned Spectacula distribution through datpiff.com.Spectacula’s allegiance to hip-hop is what drives him to seek new sounds, flows and deliveries, which can be best seen on his upcoming project, For What it’s Worth, a compilation that took 5 years to fruition, and one which product may very well resemble a memoir. “Every song reflects me; from my brief stint as a drug dealer to my views on the media, the police, and the H.I.V. epidemic.†From thought-provoking lyrics to innovative approach music, Spectacula remains a humble perfectionist. “I don’t think I reinvented the wheel or anything. I just feel like if more rappers spent time perfecting their, craft hip hop would be much betterâ€.While focusing on musical development, along with partners Mike “Bondz†White and Jason Vives, Spectacula founded an independent record label, Eye-con Music Group. One business decision led to another, and an in-house production team, Real Recognize Real A/K/A Reality Music, was formed. From consistent mixtape releases to his independent business ventures, Spectacula continues to reassert his focus and dedication toward the creation process, creativity, and most importantly, toward hip-hop.For more info on Spectacula please contact Melanie at
