Stormys BiographyStormy comes to the world of radio and entertainment from the streets of Detroit, Michigan. Born in a city filled with history in music and fine arts it was obvious that she would have music in her life in some way. She began her career singing at home, school, church and local talent shows, which open a door for her radio and acting career to began. Although she sat aside her acting career to focus on other things in her young life, it wasnt until her eighth grade year she started to pay attention to radio more. When she first heard the John Mason & Company Morning Show on WJLB Fm 98 in Detroit, she knew that she had found yet another career she had wanted to pursuit. Stormy knew at that moment a spark was set off in her!After attending 2 years of formal education to obtain a degree in nursing she received her Associate Degree in Biology. Although she wanted to become a doctor she changed her mind and she started to pursue a career in broadcasting and communications. She is currently studying for her Bachelors Degree and plans to be finish with her Masters Degree in the next three years.Stormys been in the business for at least 12 years, she began as an intern and a teen reporter at WJLB Fm 98 in Detroit, MI, which led to a gospel mid-day host and morning drive personality at WZJY 1440 Am in Charleston, SC. She then went on to become a morning show producer for the Tom Joyner Morning Show at WMGL Magic 101.7 Fm in Charleston & the Russ Parr Morning Show as WWHV-WWBR Hot 102.1-107.9 in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. As she continued her journey in the world of radio she then went on to become an adult urban radio host for WMGL Magic 101.7 Fm in Charleston, SC. During her change in radio formats she was introduced to her new home that she has loved for the last 4 1/2 years. The world of Hip Hop and R&B urban radio at WWWZ Z-93 Jamz in Charleston, SC & WWHV- WWBR Hot 102.1/107.9 in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia. Stormy has now found a new passion for radio all over again. In January of 2005 she was on WJNI Gospel 106.3 Fm on the Rise-n-Rejoice Morning Show in Charleston, SC. Stormy is also known for her creative way of reporting entertainment news for stations in Savannah and in Arkansas.Stormy has also had formal training for production specialist, voice-overs, music director and the job she finds most challenging, the position of a program director. Stormy is now looking to expand her career and began work on hosting a video show and also doing entertainment news for the local television cable network in the southern region. She hopes to one day show her talent on one of the major cable networks as well as getting back into her acting to be seen on the big screen.Stormy is very active in helping out with the empowerment of our youth offering them a voice and an outlet to be heard through her station and her television show. She believes that our generation has a responsibility to our youth of today! Stormy hopes to one day open a community center name Pieces of Joi which will be geared toward the development of our young women and men focusing on the needs that they have growing up as well as the different diseases that affect them on a daily basis. She also speaks out about HIV/AIDS and breast cancer and she is a strong supporter of the minority community understanding what Sickle Cell is and how you can live with it. Stormy is always encouraging the listeners of the community as a whole to make sure they know the facts and stay updated on whats going on in the preservation of life.Stormys out look on life is as follows, If I never see my name in Lights, the true testimony is in the life that I have lived, and the giving of my blessings and talents back to my community as a whole!!******UPDATE********
Stormy has been touring with the best play to ever hit the stage!!! "A Passion For Justice" from the book "A Bird In Flight" by Ms. Troy Bucknor. She plays dual roles of Tiffany Gangster and Ann Garner. Be on the look out cause it's coming to a city near you!!
