Hip-Hop from 1988 - 1998 if that ain't showing you my age, The Introduction of the Wu-Tang Clan era '93-'95 and what ever was bumpin' during the millenium"2000". I was also influenced by the old motown sound like the Delphonics, Chi-lites etc...I used to spend alot of time punished in my room, so I would play all of my dads oldie but goodie mixes. Which also included alot of Salsa and Merengue, you can't forget about your roots. Speaking of latin music the horn sections in the live bands influenced me to pick up a trumpet and was introduced to and excelled in Marching, Concert, and Jazz band starting in the 3rd grade. I also can't forget about my caucasian persuasion influences starting with the big hair of the 80's with Motley Crue to the 90's with Nirvana, then moving to Texas and listening to the "Thunder Roll" by Garth Brooks. So if the beat is nice and its got my toe tapping then kool.
Movies:
All time favorite movie "now keep in mind I was 12/13 and a military brat'" but "TOP GUN". I felt Like I was Maverick in the cockpit.Then I started to grow up and left Star Wars & Rocky behind and rented Dazed and Confused, Friday, Half - Baked, Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke~~~~you pretty much get the picture. Once the smoked cleared I saw movies like When A Man Loves A Woman & Love Jones, I fell in love a couple of times, then out a couple of others, and now again for the last time. Now settled down I get into any comedy special that is available, to keep my sanity. Gotta laugh you know, Plus half the shit they talk about nowadays "I want to say", but I can't tell a joke to save my life. but, it's good to know that your not alone facing and dealing with the shit of everyday life, Love and relationships. Oh yeah I can't forget about Old Kung Fu Chinese Theatre. I was an 80's kid.
