music, art, skateboard, rave'n'roll on w.e., kicks & gear, friends, gettin rich...some day
the whole world
the first songs i used to listen to again and again were themes of the a-team and airwolf, which i loved watchin in the late 80's as a kid. the 90's started with bands like metallica, suicidal tendencies, s.o.i.a, iron maiden, slayer...the beastie boys, p.e., gunshot, cypress hill, house of pain, onyx and so on. gettin my hands on mags/fanzines and meetin new people thru out skateboarding and playin in bands, i more and more scratched the surface of those different musical styles. hardcore bands like morning again, veil, unbroken, refused, integrity, strife and dozens of others gave me lotta good times and also the clue to think for myself instead of just takin things as they were told by anyone for any means ! in hip hop, some guys used to hit the world wit their release of '36...' album just at the right time, beside krs, de la, tribe called quest, gangstarr kept doin their thing. this movement has brought up so many artist 'til now, but in general i stick to acts like mos def & talib, mf doom, dangermouse, jemini, still beastie boys, spank rock, 3rd bass, jay-z, diplo, madlib, rjd2,peanut butter wolf, slum village, the roots, kanye plus britain's own roots manuva, mitchell bros, kano, roll deep, gorillaz and the streets. mixtapes/tracks by skilled djs like spinbad, a-trak, the scratch perverts, yoda, shadow, krush, revolution, skribble, etc give joy as well. only those bling*chain/frontin'bitches-videos-acts don't do it for me ! gettin older, meeting more different people also opend my mind and ears for different types of music like funk'n'soul, drum'n'bass, electronical stuff, techno but also joss stone, ms.keys, erykah badu or d'nell touch me, dependin on situations and moods. but at the end of the day james lavelle with everthing he does, from u.n.k.l.e. to solo mixes, wins my personal 'cool tunes' award. thanks to all the folks for kickin out such fine tunes !
la crash, city of god, star wars, pulp fiction, ken park, football factory, snatch, apocalypse now, welcome to hell, back 2 future, classic mafia stuff, spike jonze footie, big lebowski, kids, blow, trainspotting, dogma, zoo mixtapes, kill bill, happy gilmore and garden state made me smile...
haven't got one but 'democracy now' via podcast is a good thing !
people who give joy and inspirations to others by what they do/did.
