Rooted in a desire to passionately serve the God he loves, singer and songwriter Isak Bosman longs to live a life of worship that simply spills out into his music. Bosman’s debut release, Let Us Rise, reflects the yearning in his heart that compels him to respond to his Creator and challenges listeners to respond to God with something more than just words in a song. “One of my favorite passages in the Word is the account of David where he says to a servant, “I will not give to God that which costs me nothing. May we never take for granted the grace we have to worship God so accessibly.†A native of Bethlehem, South Africa, Bosman grew up in a non-musical family, but in 2004 he felt a call to serve God using his gift and this led him to be a part of the worship team at Hillsong Australia. It was here that he began to see how music helped connect the world with the heart of God. Later he joined a vibrant church plant in Glasgow, Scotland where he served as worship pastor. This led to an opportunity to work with triple-platinum producers Graham Duffin and Sandy Jones. Bosman recalls the making of Let Us Rise, “It’s quite funny really. I had 4 weeks to write the songs and 5 days to record it. People laugh when I tell them, because it really is insane. But I merely hoped it would be something to inspire people to worship God in a genuine way. My simple prayer is for God to use me." The result led to something really special. Music critic Hannah Seaman agrees, “This is an excellent album which exudes joyful worship. I for one will wait in anticipation to hear Bosman's future work.†Let Us Rise captures the journey that Bosman has been on in trusting, serving, and knowing that ultimately God provides. “You Are God†is a natural opening for the album as well as the theme for Bosman’s life and career; stating that God is the focus of everything he does in his life. Tracks like “Giving It All†and “Let Us Rise†are challenging to believers encouraging them to lay down their own lives and run the race set before them. Also featured on the album are Bosman’s takes on Matt Redman’s song, “Let My Words Be Few†and the Marc Byrd and Steve Hindalong classic, “God Of Wonders.†It is Bosman’s hope that with one listen the audience will be led to worship and engage God on a deeper level than ever before.
