.. Wildebeest are:Jonny Parr-Lead Vocals/Guitar. continues to front Attica Rage.Mark Borland-Lead Guitar, former Kong and Junkyard Dawgs guitarist.Rik Angelini-Percussion/Backing vocals. Formerly Valhalla, Mind Guerillas, Cuban Missiles, Battleaxe, Big Licks.Jock Maxwell-Bass Guitar/Backing vocals. Formerly Blameless, Skyscraper.Jock and myself (Rik) have played together in many guises over the years. From rock/blues bands with Dave (spider) Rogers, Alan (Big Dome) McGinlay and John Walker. We have also played together in indie bands and i used to cover for skycraper, when drummer (billy shanks) was unavailable.However it was always an ambition to get a rock band together just to play songs that we enjoyed playing (not the expected hits). Its has taken around 4 years to get to this stage.Jock and Myself have also played in previous incarnations of Wildebeest together. Battleaxe mk1 featured Alan Mcginlay-Guitar, Boab Kidd-Guitar, Biff-vocals, Jock-bass, and myself on drums. this didnt work out. then around 18 months later.....Battleaxe mk2 featured Colin Park (Parky)-Guitar, Biff, jock and myself. again this didnt work out. (good story to this one).then in late 2005 Wildebeest raised its head.Wildebeest Mk1; Biff-vocals, Boab-guitar, Jock-bass, rik-drums. we played a few gigs but things just didnt click and a lack of interest took over. the band split in nov 2006. Hence Wildebeest Mk2 the migration goes on.........The month of June 2008 and its all over for founder member Rik. there are two reasons that i have decided to call it a day. reason one was when mark (our guitarist) decided to stay .. threatening to quit. reason number 2: I played one of davie hannah's party's too many It has really put me off gigging. anyhoo iam off with the rumours that Ritchie Parr brother of frontman Jonny to take over on the sticks. Good luck to the new lad. well i must be off and i have given permission for the lads to carry on the name of WILDEBEEST. the beest mark 3 the migration goes on............. ..
