Slightly Askew

About Me

In the futuristic summer of Y2K, Ryan met a guy named Mike at college and out of their collective boredom and desire to change their dreary college music scene, they formed Slightly Askew. In the eight years since they first met, Slightly Askew has progressed farther than either of the two had imagined possible. Ska was dead and Slightly Askew played every show that they could to try to revive the body.
Hundreds of shows and thousands of fans later, Slightly Askew has charmed audiences from all over the country and the world and the world wide web. By attacking the rural hills of Pennsylvania, the band has established themselves as the leading Ska band in the state, and are spreading like wildfire throughout the country. From supporting such acts as the River City Rebels, MTV's The Sly Caps, Punchline, Pulley, the Mad Caddies, The Pietasters, Big D and the Kids Table, The Hub City Stompers, Bigger Thomas, The Toasters, and Mustard Plug to appearing on the 2006 and 2007 Vans Warped Tour, Slightly Askew has gained a large fan base of kids and adults alike.
Slightly Askew has proven themselves as a hard-working, goal driven, never say die group in the past eight years on many occasions. They have headlined multiple Relay for Life concerts as well as benefits for Skank for a Cure, Habitat for Humanity, Teen Suicide Prevention and others. In 2002, the band booked, promoted and coordinated a three week tour to the Midwest and back, playing 15 shows to many new fans. They have released 2 full-length and 4 EP albums independently, selling more than 1000 Cds by only word-of-mouth and show performances. More recently, the band has toured the east coast and midwest in support of their newest EP, "The P.E. EP".
Future plans include a new full length album, which will include some new songs already performed at current shows, as well as planning a tour for 2009. They are putting the finishing touches on a live CD which they recorded at the historic Sherman Theater in front of 350 energetic fans. Above all, Slightly Askew will continue to do what they do best - writing and performing their original brand of ska music, making tons of new fans, and keeping ska alive.
