I have played @ just about every club in Cambtidge.The junction , Corn exchange , cellar bar , Chambers ,Biggest venue to date was the Sheperds bush empire for the millenium with Mr Whippy.
I have played in france and spain and also went over to ireland with Bad Taste along with the Wizard.And Played At A Club In Cavan
Had my first taste of a recording studio in liecester with Init records (Leo Neelands) and was hooked from that moment on.I put together a small midi studio in 1997 . Consisting of an Atari 1040ste an Emu orbit 9090 a Korg x5d a genral music soundcase mixer a very old peavy reverb also have a simmons midi mixer a behringer processor and an Alesis compressor all mothballed at the mo i have 2x 1210..s and a battle scared don from intimidation did have a full on soundsystem at one point but alas it popped one night doing a free party in the rain !
Have some pro studio time under my belt worked on a tune with Sonic (Mr Whippy promoter) at the Ultimate Brains studio in kings x where we worked on a tune called so beautiful and ready now this started life at mine using cubase and the midi studio gear i have.
We had this pressed only 2 copies in existence and then with hinotori records who released the finnished tune with a Lab 4 remix ! Dreamtime / Citizen smith sold about 1000 copies
Have played alongside some of the worlds best dj..s in the past , the old crew have moved on
the 3rd and 4th tunes were made using Acid pro 4 and cool edit pro please note my monitors are rubbish pc monitors so sounds a bit poo ! i have loads of midi tunes which will all need reworking once it..s set up eventually.enjoy the noises from my head

I was renound for playing stuff that nobody else would dream of playing , i love the buzz you get from seeing a packed venue bouncing too my sets can..t beat it.And was even better when it was a free outdoor party that friends and i had organisd , the police often turned up but 9 times out of ten they left us alone , not like nowdays ! We did have a good reputation among the farmers though as we always cleaned up any mess we made and tried to be as far away from houses as possible...RAbout me 37 yrs old Typically Taurean !
i left school with really bad results i hated school they couldn..t teach me anything spent most of my time there daydreaming and messing about , i had a very short attention span and was also hyperactive the days before adhd was discovered i am a little bit dyslexic with numbers and letters and a bit ocd with the hoover, my childhood was pretty disturbed i was beaten up by my stepfather for 8 years and was constantly told i was shit and would never make anything of my life constantly being told to shut up think i was about 15 when i finally let go and said i would kill him if he ever touched me again most of my questions went unanswered, used to freak my mum out a lot by asking her stuff she just couldn..t explain to me. It has taken a long time to learn to ignore his voice constantly putting me down, i projected so much hate at him over the years he finally got what he deserved he lost his business and had a breakdown, i moved out of home at 18 and have not seen him since.
I was forced to go to the local baptist chappel on sundays, something that has scared me i didn..t beleive in what was being taught one bit and hated every second of it to say i rebbeled against it was an understatment.From what i could see it was all about who wore the best hat who put the most in the collection plate etc.When my mother confided in the minister or whatever he called himself he said do you think that Derek is the only man here that beats his wife and kids ? nice bloke. I think things like religion should be a personal choice not something that is forced on you.A few of my friends saw what derek was like first hand he would often slap me about a bit while they were there i remember on one occasion he nearly ripped my ear of as he pulled me along by it.It..s not something i wear as a badge i am sure that some of my friends reading this will be surprised at what happened if i could turn the clock back there are very few things i would change ! one friend in particular really understood me The Wizard colin my bro one of the first people i opened upto.Angel ,Nery..s,Dan Ro don..t know where i would be now if i hadn..t met you all !..REven as a kid i knew there was more to life i think i had always been a pagan just didn..t know until i started researching. my wife bought me a handmade set of runes about 5 years ago i have a connection to them that i just couldn..t explain they have brought me so much joy and understanding.

I was in the cubs and the scouts (1st Over st Marys) and then the army caddets 42nd Royal Engineers at Waterbeach barracks so got to mess around with explosives and go out for week long camps in the holidays building bridges survival training first aid genral army stuff.I could have gone straight in the army after leaving school but after thinking hard about it i was not prepared to put my life on the line for any politician, i had a marksman badge for my use of a rifle we had the whole base on highest alert one night as we were all in our uniforms walking around the village with a deactivated sten gun to say we got a bollocking is an understatment.
I was a bit of a nutter with fireworks used to take them to bits as a kid and blow stuff up including myself still got a scar on my head from blowing up a concerete plant pot on the front lawn just as my mum pulled up in the car my ears rang for hours after that ,don..t go back to stuff is the lesson learnt there...RWas also a bit of a loon on my trials bike which i used to ride around the village Honda Tl bored out to 175cc was an off road bike so no lights etc Used to go like the clappers , How i never got caught .Music was my one love (Until i met my wife) my way of escaping the shit home life i had i used to spend hours messing about with old electrical stuff taking it to bits my room at home was full of all sorts of stuff i had collected reel to reel recorders turntables tape decks i used to spend hours putting tapes together then annoying my mates with them in the car got better and less annoying as i got better at it..
I have restored (Got them back on the road again) several old minis and a ford zephyr and am currently working on an old scirocco which has full roll cage loads of engine mods etc this is my 3rd scirocco i love em it..s got a roll cage as i nearly killed myself in the first one i had mk 1 gti that was far to quick for an inexperienced 18 yr old driver who thought he knew better.My first car a Hillman Hunter 1725GT with the overdrive gearbox was fitted out james bond style i had installed rocket launchers under the rear of the car well 4 copper tubes each containing Air Bomb Repetears facing backwards i had a big switch panel in the car so i could set them off electronically by wrapping a thin copper wire around the blue paper which would short out and burn setting them off , i built a console that was above my head fitted with stereo graphic eq speakers and other stuff I ended this cars life as it failed the mot by driving into a tree at 40mph down the local scramble track with 3 mates in the car just did it for a laugh...RI am a fully qualified chef and was trained at Pembroke college in Cambridge city & guilds 706/1 706/2.Was constantly being told off for having dirty hands from messing about with cars.
In 1993 i bought a derilict listed cottage in swavesey with my then girlfriend which we restored to it..s former glory we got grants from the council for part of the work and her dad lent us the rest music was playing a big part in my life still we eventually split up the money from the house paid for all my studio gear.i worked as a chef for about 18 years until i was made redundant 3 years ago was the kick up the arse i needed to start my own business as a carpet cleaner not very exciting but the money is ok and i decide when i want to work.Would love to start playing out again been a few years , still buying tunes for the collection though !..RI am a Pagan and i am studying norse mythology and the Runes i find it really easy to astrally project myself not sure how i learnt to do this as my first memory of it was being in a pram at home and being attacked by a swarm of wasps i just remember looking down on myself as it was happening , i also have an interest in physics and the workings of the universe space and time quantum physics , synchronisity i like to know how stuff works .I think my spiritual home is up in north yorkshire on of my favourite places is roseberry topping in Great Ayton Carlton Bank comes in close second place .Please bear with me here i am getting there just have to keep editing bit..s to get it right as i said i didn..t take english at school as got chucked out of the class so my grammer is a bit crap !
