About Me

Please note that this is a fan site, and not the actual band.
Bio taken from Stormwarrior's OFFICIAL Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/stormwarriorofficial
"The band STORMWARRIOR, hailing from Northern Germany, was founded in 1998 by Lars Ramcke.Greatly inspired by the 80’s metal scene, especially from the Hamburg Metal godfathers like Helloween and Running Wild, STORMWARRIOR were able to lay down their first songs to tape in 1999. With the demo tape “Metal Victory”, which was limited to 500 copies, the band received very good reviews and many interview requests from underground fanzines and webzines Germany and Europe wide.
One year later 700 copies of the second demo, “Barbaric Steel”, were released. The attention of the metal underground was once again aroused with this new STORMWARRIOR release. After many live shows (among others at the Headbangers Open Air, the Warriors of Steel Meeting, and at the Logo in Hamburg) Dream Evil Records released in 2001 the 333 copy limited edition 7” “Possessed by Metal”.
With a freshly signed contract from the Hamburg Remedy Records label the band released a second 7”, named after the title song “Spikes & Leather”, at the beginning of 2002.
The debut album, which was recorded and produced by Kai Hansen and Dirk Schlächter, was released in july 2002. The cover art was done by the renowned artist Uwe Karczewski, best known for his work on the cult covers of the 80’s (among others from Helloween and Iron Angel). The album received great reviews in nearly every important magazine all over the world.
After their successful appearance at the Wacken Open Air 2002 and the Motala Metal Festival in Sweden STORMWARRIOR started recording the EP „Heavy Metal Fire“.
After several festival appearances in July and August (e.g. Gates Of Metal Festival in Sweden) STORMWARRIOR entered the Hansen Studio again to record the second album “Northern Rage” witch was released in June June 2004.
During the summer of 2005 STORMWARRIOR appeared on festivals like Earthshaker and Bloodstock (UK) together with Kai Hansen to add a special show including some old Helloween classics of the glorious “Walls” era to the normal set. At the end of the year the band supported Gamma Ray on their Japan tour. With that success and from the unforgettable impressions gathered in the land of the rising sun, STORMWARRIOR came up with the idea releasing a live recording from that tour.
The album “At Foreign Shores – Live in Japan” was released on August 25th, 2006. It is STORMWARRIORs first live release to feature a genuine potrayal of the bands furious live shows in Japan.
Since April 2007, the band is hard at work in Thunderhall studios Hamburg, putting together their next studio effort, entitled “Heading Northe”. With a more mature style of writing and a desire to come up with an even more fierce attack of real heavy metal, the new album will see an expected release in the third quarter of 2007.
STORMWARRIOR will take a break from the recording sessions especially for this year’s Magic Circle Festival and Wacken Open Air.
