I'm not superstitious... but I'm a little stitious!!

About Me

Hey there! I just finished up grad school at Auburn University and made the big move to Atlana. I started a new job as a Marketing Coordinator in March and am LOVING it so far. I think I'm asking for it coming to this city with STL Cardinals and Auburn stickers on my car. Someday I'll brainwash my kids into loving Auburn football like every good Auburn Alum. Maybe I'll marry someone from a rival school to make it interesting so I can have one of those "house divided" license plates!! I love to do anything creative or athletic in any way. I'm usually not the one to say, "Hey, lets go repelling", so I would love to hangout with anyone who likes to do things like that... I'll definitely tag along.I'm a complete right brain person all the way (except that I'm good at math and spelling which are left-brain qualities)... I'm very creative, artsy-fartsy, random, intuitive, holistic, subjective, emotional, big-picture oriented. I'm very visual and hands-on. My mom likes to tell the story of how when I was little I would do my puzzles flipped over so I could just see the cardboard because it was too easy the other way. That pretty much explains me, I'm a problem solver and love to be challenged, mentally and physically. I love ropes courses because they are a visual problem solving challenge that has to be done physically. I tend to be the person in these types of situations who takes over and organizes the group. Maybe I'll build a ropes course one someday... project!!! Sorry, that was my right-brained randomness taking over :)I was reading this article and thought the following was interesting because its totally me: "On a spelling test, a right brain hears the word "dog." Their mind wanders to the thought of the neighbor's dog which barked most of the night, that reminds them of the fact that the neighbors are in the Bahamas, which takes them to an island with palm trees and sandy beaches, which reminds them that they need a bathing suit for this weekend, which reminds them that they will need to take spending money... Teacher says, "Word #7 is house." Student raises hand and asks what word #6 was. They've checked out for a while." I think this is why it takes me forever to fall asleep sometimes!!!I like to think I am a very easy-going, non-judgemental person. I try see people for the whole person they are, the unique things they have to offer, and don't judge them for this or that. This is probably why I have such a diverse group of friends and why I don't fit into the typical "sorority girl" mold... its just more interesting and you learn a lot more when everyone is different. I love all my friends for different reasons, not because they are the same as me. For any sorority girl reading this, don't get your panties in a wad, I just don't like clubs where you are accepted for who you know, who your sister is, what you wear... and the like. Ironically I kinda have a thing for "frat boys"...go figure...I am half girlie girl, half tomboy, you could say. I am usually always dressed up and am kind of compulsive about my clothes and jewelry (my closet is color coded and each color progresses in sleeve length). My mom says that we're different because I would always rather be overdressed and stand out and she'd rather be underdressed and blend in. Everyone always tells me I'm too dressed up, but you want to dress for the job you want, not the job you have right (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). Then there's my tomboy side where I love to be outside and get dirty. I ask for powertools for Christmas, run around in the mud, play in the rain, play football, go hiking, build furniture... I think southern girls are supposed to say that they "glow", but I'm pretty sure that I sweat since I'm from St. Louis...are you still reading this?!?I would say I'm more spiritual than religious. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school all my life. My faith is very important to me, but I respect the faith of others as well. I think everyone is entitled to believe in what is important to them, whether I agree with it or not. I enjoy going to Mass for quiet time with God, but also like an upbeat entertaining kind of thing at the newer "Christian" Churches. Basically, I think if people treat others like they would like to be treated and really love each other, that is what God wants from all of us. I think its silly for people to fight about denominations because one thing I know about God is that he never intended us to do that. More than likely he's up there laughing at us all saying, "Not one of you has it right and you've been fighting over who's less wrong for centuries." I'll hop down off my soapbox...its making me too tall anyway...Well, this is probably more information than you ever wanted to know... but I hope you enjoyed my little blurb and perhaps I'll talk to ya later. whateverlife.com
