You are the man! 2 Samuel 12:7

About Me

Hello! I try to see the humor in just about every situation. Life is too short to take seriously, so I try to enjoy all of it. Much of my free time is spent with my church youth group (teaching Sunday School, leading worship, helping out wherever), working in my yard (mmm...tomatos...), and riding my bicycle. The other nine months of the year when it is raining, I like to read, watch (probably) too much TV, and entertain my cats. I've recently gotten into model railroading, and half my livingroom is taken up by the train set.

My Interests

Guitar (acoustic, electric, AND bass), teaching my Sunday School class, my dumb cats, and model railroading.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus Christ (who really is The Man), the Apostle Peter, Delirious, the Newsboys.

Music:

Delirious, Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, David Crowder...

Movies:

Dumb and Dumber, Terminator, Terminator 2, Tommy Boy

Television:

Survivor - the greatest show ever. Other than The Dukes of Hazzard.

Books:

The Bible, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Stand, Tom Clancy stuff.

Heroes:

My parents - the older I get, the more I wonder why they didn't kill me when I was growing up.

Rake and Run

Today was the youth group Rake and Run.  No rain this year, but it was only like 43 degrees and foggy.  We had a good time and took care of several people's leaves.  I got to use a gas ...

Blackberries

Every August, a ritual takes place in my backyard.  It's called hack all the blackberry plants.  It only took about three hours this year, but my arms and legs are all scratched up.  Ad...

My toenails are very pretty

This week was spent at the youth group waterski camp.  I didn't get much time on the water, but did manage to get up on the knee board once and get dragged around on a tube several times.  O...

Up all night, sleep all day

My church youth group had their annual lock-in last night at the church.  For those of you not familiar with these events, the idea is that you can't leave the church until the next morning and h...

More Train Adventures

The train home was late today - I guess some guy decided to end it all and jump in front of my train before it picked me up.  So I had a new adventure - riding the Amtrak Bus home.  Fortunat...

All Aboard!

In an effort to save gas money, I decided to ride Amtrak to work yesterday.  It has been several years since I rode a train, and it is pretty cheap (almost the same as gas), much more relaxing, b...
