seth samuel newton

seth is an anti-imperialist union organizer, singer-songwriter, artist, and river rat. he owes much of his musical and artistic drive to his grandmother, mother, and to the many folk musicians who welcome the profoundly political character of song. having studied piano, cello, vihuela, and mbira, seth has settled into folk singer-songwriting and hot club rhythm guitar (to hear his trio, the Pacific Manouche Trio, see: www.manouchepacific.com). seth is also a papercut artist. his primary projects are his design work for the worker-owned collective Liberation Ink, and the "peoples' portrait", a regular papercut recognizing and/or remembering people engaged in struggle for real freedom, justice, and democracy. you can find his lyrics and artwork at: www.sethsamuel.com
