This page is dedicated to my friend Martin Roy Carlson who was murdered on july 22 2006.
Marty died of a gun shot wound to the head. Martys killing is the first murder in the his towns 112 year history.
"Craig S. Fleming, 46, of Lindstrom, was charged with First-degree murder in the death of Marty, who was shot at "point blank range," court documents said. He's being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Chisago County jail in Center City.".
I miss Marty very much and so do many other people. Marty was smart in many ways and although he was like the little brother I never had he taught me a lot more then I could have ever taught him. Marty was a living legend, he was gifted at anything he did and way ahead of his time. Many people knew Marty, his quick rise as a profesional snowboarder with his own signiture pro model board at the age of 13 gave him world wide recognition and was the youngest rider ever at that time with a signiture board. Marty came up snowboarding with Chad Otterstrom and many others who were pushing to the top and are now some of the biggest names in snowboarding. Marty had a unmatched style and I don't think he ever lost a contest. I remember some really good times with my friend Marty and it is very sad that his life ended short at the age of 25. Marty died in the most violent way and the shock will never go away for none of us who knew him. As he would put it "what it is, what it is". Marty leaves behind his 9 year old son , and many sad friends and family who cared a lot about him.
Marty was a true rock star who lived fast and died young.
