Groove Puppet was established in the summer of 2000. The band was formed by members of some of the area's top regional bands who had a common goal in mind, to focus on original music.
The band's approach is quite simple, surround original music with some of the best dance cover songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and today. In creating this blend of music, Groove Puppet has quickly turned into one of the best party bands in the Midwest.
The band typically books 6 to 8 months in advance and performs about 75 shows per year. GP has played in every main venue in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
The key to GP's success has been its dynamic combination of popular rock music, horns, and an infectious, high-energy show with an incomparable animated stage performance. This unparalleled exuberance draws the crowd in and keeps them grooving all night long.
As GP's success grows, so do its goals. Since the band released their debut CD "About Time," the group has been touring the region promoting its sound. Groove Puppet's second CD is under way and slated for release in 2008.
