Punky Animals is a very small band from Bangkok, Thailand. Formed in 2003 at a high school. It's a very long history for us. We started getting along together in music scene since then. At first, we didn't play music in a kind like this. We played pop, rock or some mainstreams that we felt like. We thought that period of time was our time of "testing" and finding who we really are, our own style, our own sound. We've joined many music festivals in Bangkok to gain experiences as much as we could.
So how we became like this? Time is the answer. We've gained a lot of experiences. We've met lots of people (many different kinds also). And it taught us many things. It's like we've grown up by what we've done and faced together. The relationship grows at the same time. We are not just a group of kids playing in a same band, but we are "friends".
We are influenced by a lot of artists. Because of the likes and unlikes of each members. We grown up by the golden period of "nu-metal" at the beginning. But time changes. At 2006 when we started to make our own music. There are many bands formed up then. And it was really really hard to be accepted by other people, really hard to have our own group of fans. But we never afraid, we did what our hearts told us to!!
Our main influences are from the new-wave of hardcore like Hatebreed and Teror. The roots are from the old-school metal like Slayer, Pantera and Metallica. So we're fully classified as a product of two different ages mixed together. We also give our own music the melodies that make it sounds more beautiful and easy to be remembered by hearing it for a couple times. We don't try to be different from the other bands but we try to be "unique". We try to put our own playing style and sound into our music. Although, truely, it's all influenced but it's not wrong if you can apply it your own!!!
Now,we feel about our beginning that it takes very long time. We had just few shows since we've entered the underground music scene. But we're not failed in what we love. We are still going in this way. And we really need the supports from you. Feed us your support, we'll feed you back our hearts!!!
