About Me
Trash Can School was an L.A. band formed by Andy Seven in the late 1980s. TCS originally started as a quartet, then became a quintet, but for the most part they were a 6 piece arsenal attack that featured 3 guitars in the lineup. A great number of players started or passed through this Hollywood band. Some related bands to Trash Can School are Cockfight, Black Angel's Death Song, and Jazz From Hell.
TCS released two full-length CDs, Sick Jokes and Wet Dreams, and Volume War, both for the Sympathy for the Record Industry label. Several singles on Sympathy Records, and a 7" ep for Dionysus Records. The band's material also appeared on numerous compilations (The Big One, Born to Lose sndtrk, Teriyaki Asthma, others). Trash Can School's last cd, Big Bang Radiation Blues was the Sick Jokes And Wet Dreams' lineup. It was recorded live at Gilman Street, Berkely, Ca, and the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood, during that era of the group, but not released until 2003 on JINX Records. The live cd is still available for purchase (see band website for more info). TCS has unreleased demos from their earlier lineups, one in which features GEZA X on lead guitar. Geza later recorded the band's Volume War cd, Trash Can School's last studio album.
Though never signed to a major label, Trash Can School was a driving force with non-stop playing opportunities, and were honored to record, tour and share the stage with the likes of Helmet, The COWS, Hole, Fugazi, Dwarves, L7, The Melvins, Killdozer, Surgery, White Zombie, 7 Seconds, Bad Religion, Cop-Shoot-Cop, Supersuckers, The Mentors, Nymphs, Haunted Garage, Rocket from the Crypt, Helios Creed, Lubricated Goat, Miracle Workers and many unknowns and forgotten. Trash Can School lasted 7 or 8 years, but has been disbanded for 10 years and counting. April 1, 2006.
