John Michael, a singer/songwriter from the Shenandoah Valley likes to take the listener into real life situations with his music. "I write a lot about the ups and downs of relationships and many of them happen to be autobiographical",stated Michael. John Michael's recordings tend to lean towards the alternative/singer-songwriter genre with a very straightforward, meticulous approach. Much like his influences John Mayer, James Taylor, etc...Michael uses acoustic simplicities to set a romantic, yet bittersweet mood. While so young, John has played many live performances. John's first big crowd was at James Madison University's "Spring Fest" in Harrisonburg, VA in front of a few thousand teens and adults. John has performed in eight different states including Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina in the East, and as far as Los Angeles, California in the West. Since moving to Nashville in early 2006, Michael has released 2 singles, entitled "Time" and "Worthwhile" recorded at Bayou Studios on Music Row. Two E.P.'s entitled "Believe" and "Hope" recorded with James Kennedy Productions in Hermitage. "While I consider myself a tenor, I enjoy singing many styles i.e. Jazz, Rock, Folk. I am aiming to go more commercial with my sound and voice." Just returning from a two month journey out in California, Michael has returned with a brand new songbook with a brand new sound that needs to be heard!!! "You can find me all around town at different writer's nights such as Hall of Fame Lounge, Puckett's, Chik Fil A, Cafe CoCo, etc....God has blessed with me a gift to share with the world one person at a time.
