I always thought that if I went to church and went through the motions, obeyed the 10 commandments (Never happened), and lived a good life that I would go to heaven. That's called the "Good Old Boy" way of life. I TRIED not to steal, lie, cheat, commit adultry & murder. (Just a side note: Did you know that if you lust over another person in your mind, Jesus said that you have commited adultry in your heart? Did you know that if you hate another person, Jesus said that you have commited murder in your heart?) I'm not saying that any religion is not right. I'm saying that it isn't enough. Warming a seat in a building will not get you to Heaven. That's not enough. Not even close!Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" John 3:3 I knew who Jesus was but I didn't know Him.(There IS a difference) I hadn't given my life to Him. I didn't even know what that meant. It means that you have to accept Jesus into your heart, ask Him to forgive all of your sins and then surrender your life to Him. REPENT and talk to the Lord in prayer in your own words right now. Don't put off making a decision for Jesus, tomorrow may be too late. Some people don't know how to pray. Praying is just talking to the Lord. If you want to be saved, repent and pray--you can say something like, "Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I want to be saved. I repent of my sins, every one. I'm asking you to please forgive me of my sins against you. I want a new life in You Jesus. I want to be everything that You created me to be. I believe that Jesus shed His blood and died for me so that I could be saved from my sins. I believe that He rose from the dead on the third day. Thank You Jesus for being merciful to me, a sinner. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving my soul from sin. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can live a righteous, self-denying life for You. I'm giving You myself. Please show me what You want me to do. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen." Pray that with all of your heart and really mean it and that's it. There is no ritual, dance or hocas pocas spell, no classes to attend and no confessing your sins to any man, (why would you do that if you can talk to the Man Himself?). Now find a Bible based church (one that teaches the Bible)and get involved there. Just remember that religion won't get you into Heaven. Religion is just a way to worship God. There are many ways to worship God. If you don't look forward to going to church EVERY Sunday morning then you are in the wrong church. Going to church should be an uplifting experiance not a chore. You never know what tomorrow will bring. You don't even know if you will be here. Where will you go when you die?!! Are you sure about that? Who told you? Where did they get it from?....................................................... ............................................ "I'm gonna live life the way I want"................................................... This is a subject that some people are confused about. Most people that I talk to tell me that they're gonna live life the way that they want. Guess what?!!!! You have 2 choices! You can either live with God OR live with Satan. That's it! God or Satan! There's no such thing as living for yourself. If you're not living with God, then you only have one more option. That's what scared me!!! By not living with God, I was living with Satan. Who do you live with? Think about your life. Do you know Jesus? The only reason that I'm writing this is......I want everyone that I know to have a choice. People can't make a choice unless they know the whole story. This is just a small part of it. Think about it. Where will you go if tomorrow never comes?.....................................Get to know Jesus today. He's an AWESOME guy! He's my Lord and Savior and he can be yours. All you have to do is ask :) If you have any questions, email me, call me, come over to my house or pull me aside at Walmart if you have to :) Just get the whole story before you decide about tomorrow! ___________________________________________________________B eing a Christian is an individual thing -- a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is alive, and wants to know and be known by you. No "religion" can save you, nor can any denomination or church. Only Jesus has the power to save you and give you eternal life.
