Oslo Oscillator

About Me

Oslo Oscillator is a Norwegian/South-African collaboration. Jimi arrived in Cape Town in 2005, ready to undertake some serious studies in the shade of the mountain, but soon started looking for people to form a band. Post-punk guru Miguel and singer Tracy joined as permanent members, but drummers were hard to come by. Roelof and Gary (US) shared drum duties on their first recording session in 2006 at Sui Studios (with Dirk Hugo). The track 'Don't Talk About Love' from this session featured on SL Magazine's January/February issue 2007. Later Justinian (Black India) joined on drums for a short period, before leaving for London in March 2007. Before he left they commenced recording of their debut EP, again with the very generous assistance of Dirk Hugo. Soon thereafter Miguel and Tracy left the band to pursue their own projects and visions. With Justinian already in place in London, Jimi teamed up with Ryan (ex Dirty Skirts) to finish the recording of the EP. Without a recognized lead singer the project quickly developed into a collaborative effort with vocal contributions from friends Cherilyn (Harris Tweed, appears courtesy of Just Music), Sean (Eat This, Horse) and Kate (just Kate), as well as Jimi and Ryan.
