About Me

Ian Emmerson (aka Ian Re-entrant). I play stuff and sing stuff, and I used to rant about stuff, but I don't anymore. Too many people ranting, not enough people listening to rants.
I'm also a member of the Re-entrants, the finest ukulele pop and rock covers duo in the whole East Midlands area (to my knowledge). It's a fine band, and I have a whale of a time playing rock and pop covers on the ukulele.

Other vids of us can be found on pjdoleman channel on YouTube.
The Channel for my own stuff is ianreentrant, though so far the only video on it is this:

Irony fans will notice that I'm hawking my wares below. This is because, while in an ideal world you would buy less crap, a preferable situation for me is if you buy a little of my crap, enabling me to work that bit less. Hooray for hypocrisy!

If you want a Re-entrants CD, the myspace is in my top friends - so go there.

This is my son - he's 16 and he's already gigging. He's better than this now, but I don't have a more up-to-date vid.

He's in:

Find them on myspace too.

Influences: I'm tired of all my influences. I think their influence has waned. I've been several interesting places lately - some in which I've gone: 'yes, my kind of place; my kind of people,' others in which I've gone: 'no, I think I'll leave them to it; not my saucer of darjeeling.' Nowadays I find myself more influenced by those I can't stand than those I respect and admire (a much more exclusive group). I end up thinking: 'I don't care what I'm like as long as I'm not like that.'

I’ve gone totally soprano uke

A small thing really (pun not necessarily intended), but I was going to record some new tunes, all mullti-tracked and multi-instrumentalised and all that, and I got through the initial six-part kazoo ...

January

Ah, January. It seems unfair that only the french have a term to adequately define my feelings: I am in the clammy grip of ennui.  I think that Hamlet fellow hit the nail on the head when he obse...
