Joshua's Troop is an exciting gospel youth choir from Chicago, IL, who serves it up in an energetic and exciting way. With their contemporary, R&B and Jazzy gospel sound, JT delivers a sincere and passionate message about Christ. Founded by Rev. Charles Jenkins, currently under the leadership of Percy Gray Jr. (New Direction, Chicago Mass), with extended help from his younger brother Jeral Gray (New Direction), the respected GrayBoyz has put this choir well on their way.Joshua..s Troop has focused their attention reaching out to the youth, with their urban blend. Yet, they have not forgotten the traditions of gospel music. With hits such as, ..God is not Dead.. and ..I Found a Savior.. from their debut album, The Troops bring the energy and the message. In 2004 their sophomore album ..Project Youth.. clearly showed the public that they were here for the stay. Hits such as ..Lift Him Up.., ..Be Encouraged.. and ..Let Mt. Zion Rejoice.. had audiences around the Globe awed in amazement. But what clearly surprised the people were their vocal abilities on ballets such as ..Far Away.. and ..Help Me...In 2006 this great group of young people brought it again. On July 28th, Joshua's Troop recorded their Junior album at the New Beginnings church of Chicago.
Now in 2007, Joshua's Troop is bigger and greater than ever! Their 3rd album JT3 was released in May of 2007 and the DVD is now available. Joshua's Troop are nominees for a 2008 Stellar Award. Their outstanding movements, vocals, and message had the audience craving for more. JT and its lethal combination of great young musicians have taken the gospel by storm once again.
