Basement Records started as record store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The store open on January 2003 but closed in June 2004. It located at the basement floor of Bangunan Cahaya Suria, Jalan Silang, Kuala Lumpur.After few months later, Basement Records open its door again on March 2005, but this time in Singapore located at Bali Lane, but the problem with landlord agent, once again Basement Records have to close the door in August 2005.We try to find new home for Basement Records in Singapore, but after a few month is still failed, so after so many discussion within the collective, we started to run mail order distribution and selling at the gigs. The collective re construct on May 2006,We still release and sell various style of music at very reasonable price maybe cheaper to some of you.
